Can't believe the video hasn't been posted yet [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WvTQtsr4TEE[/ame] Watch from 12:00 How anyone can defend this refereeing and say it had no effect on the outcome is just a little bizarre.
I agree on this, but with Marlon B. Wright or not, Mendy have no chance to win anyway. So this thread is useles....
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=66CO0lksoEo&feature=player_embedded#at=87 Stop frame at 1:25 and you can see that Andrade is in the middle of the ring walking towards Bute when the referee was still counting.
Yeah it's not just the count, it's the time he takes holding them apart after the breaks and at around the ~13 minute mark he even just steps between them to buy Bute more time. I don't know how anyone can look at this and see anything but corruption.
And Bute was still up by 8, with the round over, even if you count fast. I can get the argument that maybe another ref would have stopped the fight with about 30 seconds to go, but there probably aren't that many who would have in a title fight. And if they did, people would still be complaining about that instead. Wright did a poor job, but the end result was correct.
Bute is a disgrace, fighting bum after bum after bum, never leaving his backyard, with his personal payroll referee to get him outta a jam if needed.
Yes, that was a bladant robbery, ass-**** to a fighter who just had won the fight with KO. These and alphaphetic unions are hurting boxing, not K-Bro's dominance or take the test -BS
I wouldn't call Andrade a bum, but Butes's fall is around the corner, no doubt. He's an above average boxer, that's all. Kessler would kill him.
Well, in some rules, it happens to be the proper way to do it. If the ref has to stop the count, he has to begin with the same number he was at. Of course, you'd have to take the time to read them.
Maybe not corruption per se. Rather it's jobpreservation. He has a good deal working for Interbox. And now he gets a free trip to Europe. Not bad.
This video has been posted and discussed thousands of times but since there is no internet in kindergarden, you missed them. Read boxing rules CAREFULLY if you want to understand the end of this fight. Your emotions don't count as valid points.
Never seen that fight before but that was disgraceful. I can't wait for Bute to fight someone of any note. Pavlik or Kessler get to him he may just go down as Canada's second biggest hypejob.
I look at it the same way. Andrade blew it. All he had to do is stand there in the corner and let Wright do his job. Instead he left the corner and moved a good 4 or 5 feet toward center-ring. If the standing fighter leaves the neutral corner, the count stops. Wright simply observed the IBF rule. In a post fight interview Wright said he was ready to stop the fight. He made it clear that he felt that if Andrade had obeyed the rules, the title would have changed hands that night. The IBF rules are easy to access, and there is slow motion video, with diagrams, on You Tube. However, we cannot reasonably expect the haters to educate themselves. They enjoy their pet theories to much to let the truth disrupt them. Oh --- and by the way --- Pavlik TKO11 Bute!
