Roberto Duran video, says he beats pacquiao's ass

Pac is great, but once you start talking the fabulous four (Duran, Leonard, Hagler, Hearns). Hes out of his league IMO

Of course they are not Duran but they are world champion caliber fighter who were the best option for Pacquiao to fight at the time. For a man Pacquiao size to beat them down like that look pretty amazing to me. Like I said, it's easier said than done. I bet in Dela Hoya, Cotto, Clottey, Margarito, and Mosley mind...they believed that they will never lose to this lightweight midget. I'm sure that if Duran and PAC could meet in their prime, Duran would be the favorite because he is the bigger guy with pretty much every tools in the book but don't be surprise if It's the other way around.

 

Defense and quickness and speed on the counter are what Benitez did to beat Duran.

Other than Hearns who's a physical freak, anyone thats taken the fight to Duran has gotten disected and mauled.

Pacquiao is neither defensive or a mover, and he's boxistically not on Duran's level.
Duran would educatively maul him.

Why do you change the subject. We are talking styles and fightplan. Pacquiao had an outside style fightplan against ODLH and he stuck with it. He didn't revert to his desire and make a brawl with him.

 

He would beat Pacquiao, Roberto very well could have been the greatest lightweight of all time. Freddie Roach agrees with this aswell.

 

The point was that sticking to an outside gameplan against that version of Oscar doesn't mean anything. Pacquiao would not be able to do that against Duran.

Also, you tend to make things about what Pacquiao decides to do and not do. "If pac decides to brawl" "if pac decides to stick to the gameplan on the outside"

In this matchup, Duran would be the one dictating what Pacquaio does. Pac isn't just going to say "Hey, I reckon I'll keep this guy on the outside and pick him off at will." It's Roberto ****ing Duran. HE decides what you do in the ring, not the other way around.

 

Duran has the ability to make good fighters fight his fight, if he caould make a prime and skilled boxer like Ray leonard fight inside with him, I think he could do it to Pacquiao, whos natural style is that of a brawler and a guy who takes punches to give his own. Lets not forget that Duran was very elusive and technically skilled when fighting at his best, its not even clear cut whether Pacquiao has the ability to win a fight on the outside.

 

Freddie agree that Duran would beat Pacquiao ( which i agreed also at that time ) but that was before he found how great Pacquiao was. That's when they were going to fight Diaz. Freddie always thought Pacquiao would just be a come forward brawler until he found out what Pacquiao could do if he moved around. After that fight Pacquiao became a new fighter. He used his foot speed, fully developed his right hand, perfected his right hook counter, his combination now included everything, he didn't just come straight forward anymore, and his punches became crisp and accurate. I never thought that Pacquiao could be this great.

 

Leonard fought Duran fight because he chooses too. He found out different so he fought his fight in the rematch.

Duran was on fire that night, there was no way leonard was outboxing even if he tried. Duran was putting the pressure on greatly.

 

Thats not rue, if Freddie always thought that Pacquiao was just a come forward brawler than he would never have spent the time developing him to such an improved point. Freddie ALWAYS never how good Pacquiao could be, regardless of how raw he was when he first got him. And I think that Freddie wass being honest when he said Furan would beat Pacquiao.
