I went the fight and was disapointed like everyone else. I watched the early rounds again (1-6) today.

Haye just wanted the payday. he really could of won this fight if he had desire. I know attacking more would of left him more open to a wlad sledge hammer

In the early rounds, the few times when Haye put a combination attack to together, wlad didnt know what to do. he was baffled

After round six he only threw the right hand.

I respect adam booth as a trainer. he must of known Haye didnt want it cos he never showed any urgency at all during the later rounds. he was acting like mission was accomplished in Haye going the distance and not getting hurt or marked up

Haye done the exact same thing as past K2 opponents - freezed in the ring.

I said to Haye supporters before this fight that 'Reality' would set in once the bell rang but they weren't having it.

Wlad has his number, and Vitali will blitz him.

Haye tried. It was the best he could do. People are criticizing his strategy, but if he opted for a more aggressive approach, he would have gassed out earlier and put himself in serious trouble towards the end.

Wlad was just a lot better than he expected.

Dont think this is the case it happens to too many of Wlads opponents, i think its a huge task with his jab and the other fighters dont actually realise this until there in front of him when the 1st bell sounds.

He would of had a better chance of winning than coasting. I know he would of been more susceptibale to a steel hammer bomb but there would been more chance of a haye bomb landing on that china chin

He hurt wlad in da last and a few other rounds but wlad couldnt hurt him

IF YA dont have a go, Youll never KNOW

    That's true.

But Haye did land a few bombs, and they didn't hurt Wladimir as much as I thought they would. Which convinces me that his chin isn't as weak as advertised. Haye would have been in serious trouble if Wladimir was still standing after 6 rounds of hayemakers. I mean, even with his reserved pace he was gassing half way through. Imagine what he'd have been like if he was as aggressive as everyone wanted him to be? I think his team were well aware of his stamina issues, and therefore they had him go through that cautious, energy conserving approach.

valid points but why was there no Urgency from Booth or Haye. they were clearly losng his only hope of victory was to land da bomb

The tactics seemed spot on in the early rounds. Frustrate and tire Wlad out. I dont hold that against him but if he wnted it he would really of upped the tempo

Neither did enough to impress me. Haye couldn't and Wlad wouldn't.

    running,the man had a broken toe! :twisted::twisted:

    lol.

you can see all through the fight, haye puts very little weight on his right foot, thus stopping his usual power, and stopping his balance in close, explaining why he "flopped" over to the floor each time,it would have also stopped him following up on the good right hands he did land on wladimir.

ive watched the fight for the 3rd time now,and on mute.

wlad simply won through jabs,he threw more and landed more, even though most of his punches barely landed very well, all soft grazing shots on the most part.

haye made him miss a lot, they were both cautious and tentative with a lot of posturing.

i think if you watch it closely, over the fight, haye lands more right hands, and they look cleaner and harder right hands too.

if haye would have been :
    injury free.
    jabbed more with the left.
body punched, punching from body to head more.
    punched down wlads left hand.

he could have took more rounds and maybe hurt wlad from following up on more right hands than just throwing one and not working agian right after on landing.

wlad can be rendered usless if you are busier than him,if like haye you have speed, timing and accuracy, you just need to throw more and thus stop him throwing and landing, wlad does not counter,he does not throw while being punched at!.

haye would have hopefully, been busier, landed first, moved in closer, thrown left hooks after right hands that landed.

banged harder to the body early on,should have took wlads confidence by outbusying him and taking rounds of him early, then look to ware him down and flurry with combinations and furious activity.

wlad didnt look good in that fight,he is no ATG or anything, for 30 pounds more and all the other weight and measurements he should be winning more convinginly, haye needed to fight better and out of his style a bit, wlad fought like he does and gave haye little chance to counter and land enough to stop him.

i think haye with his style and gameplan used on wlad, would outbox vitali doing the same things, vitali moves less good, slower, punches slower, hands low,no guard, not as good a jabber. Haye counters more, looks even sharper defensively.

Haye just needs to practice boxing smarter and better vs Arreola then go take on vitali, get his belt, and take wlad again.

(i think a thin, conditioning and more experienced arreola gives wlad serious troubles,as does fury and price with their size taking away wlads advantages, and with fury aggression and prices speed power, wlad has two tough tough fights)

There was a moment in the fight, where David Haye's jab was fast and hard. Almost like a Larry Holmes type of jab, and i seen a glimmer of confidants inside David Haye's aura. He landed it afew times, and Wladimir for a brief moment looked bothered.

"But then he totally neglected his own jab, in the following round"

If the rematch ever happens, David Haye needs to use his "Jab" its the forgotten punch..."For him personally".

Ray Mercer out jabbed Lennox Lewis, Mike Tyson out jabbed Tony Tucker.

Its not all about reach. Its about timing, speed, and accuracy.........

"I'm sick and tired the way, opponents who face Wladimir Kiltscko totally neglect and accept for some strange reason, that they cannot use their own jab. Wladimir Kiltschko is not Larry Holmes, and i beleave David Haye.....if he really committed to it, could use a very affective and damaging Jab against Kiltschko.

haye just doesnt throw that many punches anymore, he was always going to throw even less against wlad no matter what happened i dont think he bottled it or anything it was just the way it was always going to go

i dont really think he gave up at all, he was just looking for an opportunity that never came, think his whole idea was to lure wlad in and catch him with something big but wlad never went for it

saying that hwen it got to round 10 and he was still just waiting instead of making it did happen i was getting frustrated, you could see wlad wasnt going to do anything stupid by that point and he should have taken a few more risks when it gets to that late in the fight

Haye just isn't that good. There was nothing in previous fights to suggest he would beat a Klitschko. He's mostly hype.

As Tyson said, he doesn't hit that hard either. Look at the punishment the like of shot Ruiz and Barrett took before getting put out. Just because Haye says he has massive power doesn't mean it's true. He's knocked out egg chin journeyman Maccarinelli...amazing.

I agree Haye's punch power isn't what it's claimed to be, but I wouldn't say Barrett took a lot of punishment before getting stopped. Most of the times he went down were from grazing punches that really didn't connect that well. If Haye wasn't so reckless in that fight Barrett could well have been sparked a lot earlier from one single punch.

However, I would agree that Haye is mostly hype.

Yer probably right about his ability. I just think if he showed more desire his chances of winning would of gone up
