There is probably not a better fight to be made than pac vs. floyd in the history of the sport.

Both fighters have spent well over a decade combined on the P4P list and have shared the acclaim as the best in the sport over this time period.

Both are now true Welterweights who share nothing in common stylistically.
Actually they are the opposite in every imaginable way.

Boxing will never have this situation again. Manny Pacqiuao has risen to become the most dominate and popular fighter on the planet mainly because of his action fan friendly style combined with over a decade of wars vs the best fighters on earth. Floyd possess the best pure boxing skills the sport has ever seen. He has never lost and never been down and has never failed to figure out every single fighter he faced usually negating anything offensively they offer.

Somehow this fight needs to be made for early to mid 2012 with a second and possible third fight consecutively.

With the magnitude of this match up and what is at stake for the sport the fighters need to meet face to face aired simultaneously on SHO and HBO with Kellerman and Tarver or Bernstein sharing the face off to finally understand how this fight can be made because it must be.

I believe it will happen and the unthinkable a truce between the fans of each fighter coming together as the fighters will for themselves and for the sport of boxing in general.

    I pray it happens

Although i still believe the Louis Vs Schmeling 2 fight is bigger as well as the Ali Frazier 1 fight

Not sure I agree. It might be one of the most anticipated, but not sure about the phrasing "Not A Better Fight".

I can't wait to see the fight, but in terms of No Better Fight, there are pleny of matchups sure to result in better fights.

I have a feeling if this fight takes place, Floyd will use his defense/countering to cruise to a decision.

Im sure there are plenty of better fights, however I think its the biggest fight ever in terms of the combined popularity of both fighters, combined record and legacy, in their prime.

Neither Duran or SRL has achieved what these 2 already have when they fought, same with Ali-Frazier, SRL was considered past it when he met Hagler etc.

I am speaking of seeing two fighters each to be called or thought of at a time to be the best or top ten best ever to lace em up.

We have no idea how it will turn out and if they fight but if they do being that the defensive fighter is older and a tiny bit more vulnerable makes it even more intriguing.

Its the only fight to be made out there.
Between then they've beaten anyone whos anyone in their respective divisions.

For arguments sake, lets say they win their upcoming fights.
That will mean that between them they win have beaten Barrera,Morales(x2), Castillo(xs),Corrales, De La Hoya (x2),Hatton (x2),Judah,Margarito,Marquez(x4),Mosely(x2),Ortiz and more I havent mentioned.

They've basically beaten anyone whos anyone on their divisions over the past decade.

    Fight for the ages.

I enjoy reading many of your posts, and I appreciate your enthusiasm in this one, but you're either exaggerating a great deal, or using a bit of hyperbole. I can't tell which.

TY booradley. I usually get "your the worst poster on esb"
but i am being very honest here.
this seems like a topic that has been over done 1 million times but with both fighters set with good bouts in the coming months...just maybe.

regardless I think the face off is necessary for the hardcore fans who invested a lot of time into the potential Fight Of The Century if not the best match up in sports history.

Didn't they say that about Mayweather DLH? This fight has all of the controversy makings of a DLH Trinidad.

Passed it's sell by date, Mayweather will never man up for this fight not until pac is showing signs of slipping & the fact that he's fighting Ortiz is a ****in joke on the sport & Khan is next for the GBP/Mayweather promotions in-house swindlers.

**** Mayweather, it's all too late & tainted by Floyd's cowardice for it to be of any consiquence now or in the future. Pacquiao agrees to all Mayweathers outrageous fight barricade demands & Mayweather runs away.
