if your just looking at who they fought i would say DLH but the timing was right for some and then he lost most of his big fights so it has to be mayweather
DLH easily. There's noone on Floyd's resume that DLH would not have starched(except for DLH/Mosley prime4prime) whereas I can see Floyd losing to some of the names on DLH's resume. By the way G Hernandez(RIP) was also a DLH win, as well as a couple of other decent scalps in Ruelas and Mago Gonzalez!

De La Hoya beating a very game Whitaker (even if he lost or drew, spirited performance), out-boxed a prime Trinidad, Knocked Vargas out, should have a W against a younger Mosley in the second fight, took on and fought on even terms in the early part of the Hopkins fight seeking a 7th world title against a bigger veteran ATG, knocked out Mayorga when already past his prime, and even though he lost clearly, was still able to give a prime Mayweather trouble with his offense and boxing skill. That's not even counting his admirable accomplishments below-welterweight and a slew of controversial decisions and victories (Quartey, Chavez, Campas, Medina, Molina...etc.) Mayweather's career was very good in terms of accomplishments before he moved up to welterweight. Since then, his opponents haven't always been at their best and the time he's spent out of the ring things out the depth of his accomplishments there.
I scored the Trinidad and second Mosley fights to Oscar by 4 and 5 points respectively. I did not view these as particularly close fights. Both are superior wins to ANYTHING on the Mayweather resume. I scored the Whitaker and Quartey fights against Oscar, had Pea and Ike both winning by 1 point, extremely close fights. Both guys even at the point Oscar fought them were superior to ANYONE Floyd fought at welterweight, or anywhere else. I scored the Sturm-DLH fight for Sturm, but I don't view it as all that relevant, Oscar had no business being at 160. I scored the 1st Floyd-Castillo fight to JLC by 2 points. Oscar fought much, much tougher competition, so defeats are natural. I believe that if Floyd had fought Tszyu, Margarito, Cotto, Williams, a younger Mosley, and Pacquiao, rather than ducking and retiring, he'd have incurred a loss or two along the way as well (even though they, as a group, are not as strong as the equivalent group that Oscar fought - Tito, Pea, Mosley, Quartey, Vargas). No matter what way I look at this, the answer is Oscar. I believe Floyd had better abilities in his prime, but if we talk strictly resume then Oscar has the edge.
His resume of OFFICIAL wins is clearly better. :verysad ODLH is 20-6 against world champions. Officially. You have to be really, really ignorant to think he "lost almost all his big fights".
Oscar has the better resume and is higher ATG for me... but I do feel FLoyd will surpass him in both categories......
