Pac's body punching is much less effective against what are almost all weight-drained opponants.

In another post you mention Pac folding anyone other than Clottey with those body punches but two points - Clottely was basically static and Pac wouldn't have landed the punches with any accuracy otherwise and secondly Clottey claims he had the shits before the fight and stomach cramps during after a touch of food poisoning yet Emmanuel still couldn't move him.

Pac's body punching is much less accurate and effective than any incarnation of Mayweather.

Either you don't understand boxing very well, you're completely biased against Pac or you have your eyes closed when watching Pac fight.

His VERY SUCCESFUL head attack is set up by the body punching he does in the begging of EVERY fight.

In the future, try and pay attention to this.

And a guy as big and as strong as Clottey can survive when his arms cover his entire Torso, and he has time to anticipate every shot, because he doesn't throw enough punches to get countered.

Mayweather is great too, but Pac didn't get to the top by being a one dimensional fighter which people often claim he is.

Even against Mosley, Pac's initial body attack is what I think took the fight completely out of Mosley's hands. He obviously didn't like what that the little man was doing to his midsection.

Floyd doesn't fight for effect. He fights to impress the judges. This was instilled in him from the very start as an Olympic boxer.

    It's close, I'd say even.

I'd give the edge to Mayweather in terms of consistency (jabs to the body, left&right hooks on the inside), but Pac has developed a left to the body he throws in combination that is killer. Almost folded Margarito over with it.

Mayweather. He has one of the best jabs to the body. Pac goes to the body, but not very often. Actually, very few fighters today attack the body. A lost art.... But Floyd has this.

Not for Mexicans...You see alot of the top Mexican fighters today that have great body work...Montiel, Marquez, Arce, Segura, Margarito, Mares, ect, ect. Its always been and will always be a an art to Mexico!...As a big fan of body punching, thats why i made this thread..Both Floyd and Manny can be brilliant with their body work when they use it. :good

You ever taken jabs to the solar plexus ? They disturb your rhythm and can gas you a little.
Floyd uses really good bodyshots on the inside to protect himself(see Mosley).

Mayweather's jab to the body, and short right on the inside are great. Look very hurtful when he commits to them, particularly his jab.

My favourite Pacquiao punch of All-Time is not the Hatton KO. It is the bodyshot against Margarito that chopped him in half in the forth round.
