“I’VE been fighting 16 years and it’s all been building for this one moment.” Darren Barker’s date at boxing’s big table is now only three months away.
Many observers probably scoffed at the idea of the London middleweight going from going 12 rounds with the unheralded Domenico Spada to pitting his wits against world beater Sergio Martinez in the space of six months.

    Thanks :good

Fair play to him for giving it a lash sure. Pity we never got to see him against Macklin, Lee or McEwan. I suppose there's always a chance we could see it afterward.

Very tough task for him. Hope he does well.

I think Martinez will be troubled by the long straight punches from Barker for 5 rounds, with Barker needing 2 rounds for a W, Martinez UPS his game and stops Barker in the 9th.

worse fighters than Barker have upset better fighters than Martinez.

Every one seems to suck Martinezs balls arounf here but the truth of the matter is that Barker is the first sober middleweight that he has faced....could be interesting.

Even if Barker has the skills for job, his prep in terms of opposition faced to this point leaves him with a huge gap to bridge.

    Ever the optimist Rob.

Good luck to Barker, he's giving it a lash against the very best and he has my respect for that regardless of how badly he loses.

Can you imagine if Barker actually won convincingly?

Would trump Macklin beating Sturm and Burns beating Martinez both together.

You quoted my post before I had a chance to change the awful use of the word "comprehensively." I've never felt such shame. :verysad
