Mayweather. Those body punches he threw on Judah were nasty. Manny punches hard as **** to the body though. I remember watching Manny's last fight. He hit Shane with a straight to the body and it made a thud sound.

people for some reason thinks that getting jabbed in the pit of your stomach or chest does NOT hurt WTF, I watch an elie setback interview with one his sparring partners who was talking about how it really is a significant punch that takes alot out of you, its not a one hitter quitter but let any grown man punch u in the stomach over the corse of 3-5 rounds YOU WILL DROP YOUR HANDS

This poll and thread are a little unfair , as Floyd is already known for being a great body puncher and breaking fighters down , where as Manny is in there to take your head off.

Does Floyd even punch to the body? Aside from a jab, when does he actually hook or throw power shots to the body?

You either have a bad eye for boxing, or you just don't watch Mayweather fight. Or both.

^ Wow what was that, 1 of 2 body shots that he threw in the fight? Floyd very sparingly goes to the body. I rarely see him hook to the body . He throws a stiff jab, and maybe hooks once in a blue moon.

Why does it have to be a hook? He throws straight shots typically. Especially that short right uppercut to the midsection.

I don't mean to sound like I'm giving you a hard time, but... Do you have a problem seeing all the punches in a fight? Pretty much every time he is in close with his opponent he sneaks in some shots to the body.

    Apples and oranges.

Floyd throws jabs to the body to keep you off rhythm. (usually)
Pac throws murderous punches to the body either as part of a combo to make you drop your guard, or to make you respect his body punching enough that his feints to the body can pave the way for his straight left (this was how he dropped a couple of fighters, JMM and Mosley included).

Really hard to decide between the two, but I'll give this to Mayweather as a tribute to how he employed it against Judah.

Watch the Hatton fight again. Ricky was getting worked to the body pretty bad. Excellent example of Floyd's body attack.

He jabs to the body , and he throws a pretty good straight right against southpaws. Aside from that I don't see him ever going to the body much at all. Pacquiao meanwhile throws body shots fairly consistently in fights. See the Clottey fight for the one of the best body attacks I've seen in years.

I guess my point is I dont see how you can say one guy is a better body puncher when he almost completely neglects going to the body except with jabs.

Getting 'worked' is a bit of an overstatement. Floyd was pots hotting him with hooks and striaght rights throughout the fight, which is what he usually does 99% of the time. I didnt' see any significant body shots in that fight except very late when he had him hurt. Those little sneaky uppercuts on the inside aren't really power shots, their just little scoring punches.
