Joyi, Ioka, Sithsamerchai, Garcia, Nietes and now Calderon. Hardly a steller bunch, but it surpasses 130, which is Burns, Uchiyama, Fana, Aoh, Solis, Martinez and a bunch of unproven prospects for me. Even a past best Calderon is a superior fighter to virtually anybody at super-feather.

And no, I'm not including Broner as amongst any of the top fighters at the weight yet. A robbery over Ponce and a win over the completely chin-less Litzau won't do it.

BTW billy, this guy laughed at me years ago when Burns was a raw novice & I predicted the kid would be a world champion one day, back before you did your magic & turned Burns from potential to the finished article! Ol' JC hes never had the decency to come on here & say "you know Dunk, I laughed in your face when you predicted world glory for Burns, but BOY did you prove me wrong!"

Nice to see hes still bitter to this day, I LOVE to see 'em hurting:yep

Although, I would have loved it more if he just gave Burns his respect. Im the big bad scotsman of ESB, but I will admit when Im wrong & give credit where its due. Shame others dont have the same class as my good self.

Dunky, this ''us against ESB'' persona you put on is pointless.

You're mad cos you're not part of the 'in' crowd Dunk. Perhaps if you weren't a caricature of yourself you would be. I'm Dunk, nobody agrees with me and I say what I want, I'm on my own and I like it! :verysad:

Sithsamerchai and Nietes are both moving up in weight, are they not? Joyi is a beast and by far the most formidable fighter in the division (especially after Gonzalez moved up), Ioka is a very good prospect that was in the right place at the right time and Garcia is decent, nothing more, IMO. Calderon was brilliant, but I do wonder just how much he has left now.

There's a few good fighters at the very top, however there's such a lack of depth to the division. The fact that the likes of Tshepo Lefele, Hekkie Budler and Heri Amol are seen as contenders says it all really.

Plus, how many great fights have there been at the weight in the last 18 months or so? Because it's all well and good having these top level fighters, but it's also important that they provide top fights. In the last 18 months super featherweight has had a FOTY contender in Burns-Martinez, a domestic FOTY contender in Sykes-Morris and other top fights like Crolla-Morris, Uchiyama-Miura, Martinez-Munguia, Nakamura-Tanada etc.
