This may have been discussed and answered already. I do apologise if so. It is noted that DeGales next opponent is to be European SMW champ Wilczewski. I thought with EBU rules that a fighter couldnt fight for the title if they were coming off a loss. As everyone knows DeGale is coming off a loss to Groves, so is DeGale to have an easy win fight first or are the rules going to be altered for him? Or am I wrong? I seem to remember reading that K Mitchell couldnt fight for J Murrays title due to losing to Katsidis and that R Munroe couldnt contest for his old European title straight away due to his world title points defeat
Apparently if its a close loss to a decent opponent the EBU can/will allow the contest. Sounds like a bit of a bodge/ get out clause to me but there we go!!
I dont know if you are joking or not. I like Groves but he has only had around 12 fights so is he a decent enough opponent. Munroe lost to a world champ (clearly).
I didnt mean it like that, but fair enough. I wasnt 100% sure of the conditions and even now from what you say, they can be altered to suit by the looks of things
