    Round 5

This is getting quite brutal. Lucero is doing good work, slugging to the body and getting in some overhand whacks while desperately trying to square up on the inside in light of the slippery footwork of Evans - but he is getting creamed with quick solid counters. Evans is putting together right jabs with blazing fast left uppercuts, following through and generating his base of power from low. He never quite presses the advantage when he detonates, and allows Lucero the necessary moments to recover while admiring his work and bracing against the body shots or clubbing overhands that might be coming back.

    10-9

    50-43

Lucero is slowing down, maybe getting tired. Evans can't resist going to war every time Lucero picks up the pace. Evans did very well for the most part, but he did eat a couple of big shots, including one left by Lucero that moved him.

Knowing Teddy, he almost sounds like a sellout, being happy about his fighter fighting for a "regular" wba. He usually would bash something like that if it was another fighter being talked about fighting for the same belt.

Another solid kd in Evans favor, from the left hand again.

    Round 6

Lucero walks right onto a left hand and has to carefully retrace his steps almost all the way to his own corner to clear his head. Evans is hurting Lucero consistently. Still, it's Lucero coming forward and trying to find openings. Lucero is just a bit more cautious and selective in his approach now, his body language indicating that he'd like to avoid as many of those powerful counters as his style allows. Oops, down again. He is up at the count of eight, looking alert but somewhat deflated. Left hook to the body by Lucero, before fleeing with his hands held up and out several inches from his face with the palms turned out. Evans runs him to the ropes and whips him with a combo to the body, forcing Lucero to a knee. He never even turns to the ref as he crawls to his corner.

    TKO6!!

Good showing for Evans, and good sportsmanship also.

Want to see more of this guy in the future.
