:think From most meaningful (with all factors considered) to least Peter I Chagaev Brock Peter II Byrd II Haye Brewster II
Brewster 2 was the first (only) time he avenged a stoppage loss. Peter 1 Chagaev Byrd 2 Brewster 2 Brock Haye Peter 2
That fact in itself means little. Do we really want to see him wreak vengeance on Purrity or Sanders at this point? Is anybody (seriously) calling for Pacquiao to chase down Torrecampo or Singsurat? That version of Brewster, man? Not a particularly creditable win, even with the score-settling angle.
Haye- Best name on resume. Byrd 2- IBF title 2nd best name on resume. Peter 1- Froze up against a fat puncher but was able to tough out the win. Chagaev- Good solid fighter, although on the slide and diseased. Brock- Good solid contender. Peter 2- Past prime and already destroyed by Vitali Brewster 2- Shot to **** and washed up
Why is Haye the best name on his resume? Because he was a pretty good cruiserweight champ? Does that mean Adamek will be the best name on Vitali's resume?
Bingo, Brewster was done at that point, funny thing though, he took far less punishment in the rematch than he did in his win, Its just too bad that no one developed the guy with any skills, he could've been really good.
Actually now that I think about it, Byrd could be the best win on Wlads resume. And yes Adamek will be the best fighter Vitali has beaten if he wins.
No, that wouldn't be practical, nor the same thing. But when he faced Brewster, there was that knock against him. (Mainly psychological). He had never avenged a loss. Again, current Pac against either one after 12 or 15 years is hardly the same as avenging a loss three years later. At the time, there were questions aplenty about Wlad's mental toughness being up to the task. And the manner in which he dispatched his man was decisive. Not a top three win, but an important crossroads event for Wlad, IMO.
byrd 1-2 brock chagaev peter 1 iggy (fight was terrible but i dont need to state the obvious) brewster 2 mercer haye
