You can see where the TS is coming from though.

After the Prescott defeat, He who shall not be named could of thought "oh **** my moneyspinner has gone tits up, he's finished let's just shot him in with (insert name here)"...

But no, he who shall not be named got the ***an fight, got it back on Box Office, where people paid to see it and help raise Amir's profile back up slightly, then got the MAB fight, which was pretty big, even people i know who dislike Khan went to that fight because it was MAB, then when he won the casuals started taking notice again, seeing Khan beat the man who beat Naseem (not realising he needed a fork sticking in him), then got Khan a World Title shot against Kotelnik. He who shall not be named could of threw Khan in with Bradley at that point for a payday and seen Khan get beaten, but he guided Khan the right route and Khan won a World Title from it.

Obviously Khan has to do half of the work himself, he is the guy who get's in the ring at the end of the day, but to discredit he who shall not be named totally is ****ing stupid

It's obvious a boxing coming back is down to the fighters heart and will. A good promoter can set up the pins but he can't fight the fights for him.

Being with Fwank hasn't exactly helped in Mitchell's case, for example

I think the thing about discrediting is Amir just being his stupid self. When you hear the live interviews and it does get brang up, he does credit him. Plus, Fwank does have bites at Amir, so rightfully so, Amir jabs back.

The thing with the TS is, he just wanted to have a go at Khan. This isn't exactly arrogance.

Tbh it was Roach that asked for the MAB and Kotelnik fights not Frank W IIRC..

Of course he wasn't going to abandon Khan after the Prescott fight and chuck him in with a monster, Khan was still very young and was still pretty much the only "star" he had despite the loss.

Lets not anoint St Francis of Islington just yet....;O)

    thats not entirely true...

guys like paul williams and sergio martinez for a long time struggled to get the fights and recognition they deserve, until they signed with good promoters.

while on the other hand you have andre bertoe taking up most of the tv slots on the hbo dates getting paid millions of dollars for fighting nobodies.

True he who shall not be named has dig's at every fighter who he doesn't promote, but then again Khan does talk some absolute shite sometimes.

It's easy to see how the comment can be taken both way's to be honest

In other words, the promoter did a promoters job. What's so special about that?

A lot of promoters have to invest their own money into a fighter at the start, but in Khan's case he was a money spinner for Fwank from the beginning.

Roach would have the final say on who Amir accepts to fight.

If it's all down to "W", then by that argument he is to blame for Khan getting KO'd in 1 round.

I'm not saying there's anything special about it, but to discredit everything the promoter has done is silly.

It's down to how you read the article, you can take it one way or another, but there is an argument for both cases

FW proposed the fight to Don King after seeing how poor his shape in China was. Discussed it a while. Then they phoned Freddie for his thoughts.
