It was an epic fight and performance from both boxers. I can still hear Emmanuel Stewart yelling "He is hurt! He is hurt! He is hurt!":yep

Very close, great fight. I wouldn't have argued either way to be honest.

You didn't hit a nerve at all there homey :good I'm sitting here amazed at how dumb you are. Claiming that somebody who just watched a fight all the way through that happened 8 years ago has only been following the sport for a few months. You must be a bitter little Toney nuthugger who I riled up by saying Jirov gave him ALL he could handle. :D :D And he did ...there is no disputing that.

lol.. course I riled you up. I enjoyed this fight immensely and loved Jirov's performance. this is probably my 2nd Toney fight. unlike you, I can appreciate a good fight when I see it:good and yeah, you've probably been following the sport for a few months at best to have watched 2003's best fight for the first time. it looks like I've damaged your feelings, sorry about that :thumbsup perhaps one day you may be able to understand what you see in the ring.

Trust me there arm chair tough guy ...you didn't "rile me up". But I know I hit a soft spot on you. Which is why you felt the need to post in this thread. Your boy Toney got taken into the trenches in this fight. Can't deny it :good And there should have been a rematch as close and good of a fight that it was. 117-109?! Paalease  MUCH closer than that.

And who said I didn't appreciate this fight? Now you are making yourself look more stupid. Just stop

I do not know why it is so hard to believe that three American judges (I believe) would give the benefit of doubt to an American fighters at the expenses of a European/Central Asian fighter in America. It was ovbiously close.

I had it 115 - 112 in favour of James Toney. Close fight. Hard to score because of Jirov's high work rate. The last 3 rounds of that fight were the best rounds in the last 10 years in the cruiserweight division.

Great fight, and a beauty to behold by both fighters.
Close, and Yes, it's was clear that Toney won the fight even before the score cards were read. Unfortunately, that lost took a lot out of Jirov.

I watched this fight live in my College Dorm room and was absolutely shocked at the back and forth action and vintage Toney slippin an countering, the last 3 rounds were something to remember...

    Toney picked him apart.

    Clear win for Toney.
