Why don't youi use your own mind and stop allowing others to think for you. Lara is bum. I don't give a rats ass about is amateur record, this is the pros and someone needs to tell him that. He fought just like an amateur.

Why don't you ask ODH if you can win a fight running and holding.

No, but i know you can win a fight when ****ing paul williams blocks every left hand with his ****ing face and his knees buckle numerous times. Lara is a world class Jr. Middle weight and you are a bum of a poster.

Lara beat Williams more convincing than Quintana did the first time and he still didn't get the decision. Amazing.

    I think williams won.

    You don't win a fight by getting 2 or 3 nice 1-2's...

Williams outworked him easy, and had Lara backing up most of the fight and running in the end....

    Not a big robbery.

    The worst robbery of 2011.

There have been many fights this year where Fighter A ought to have won by a few rounds, but Fighter B got the nod. There have been some where it ought to have been close but the judges had Fighter B almost shutting Fighter A out.

This is the absolute worst. This was a fight Lara ought to have won by about as wide a margin as is possible - yet he lost.

Lara ought to have had so many rounds in the bank that he could have coasted through the championship rounds (pulling an Oscar vs. Tito) and STILL won.

You also don't win a fight by just moving forward and throwing punches. And you don't win a fight by just having your opponent backing up. I don't understand why some of you guys think that moving forward and throwing more than your opponent automatically means you're winning the fight. There are rules in this sport. You have to be effective while being aggressive, and Williams was anything but tonight.

Exactly. Yes, he was constantly coming forward (at his own great peril, eating TONS of left hands) and letting his hands go - but he wasn't landing any telling blows (because he wasn't turning over anything he threw). He was "outworking" Lara with meaningless slaps.

He made latter-career (brittle hands) Joe Calzaghe look like Joe Louis.

But Lara only landed maybe 1 or 2 of those hard left... and that was it...

His whole game was back up, 1-2 at times sometimes it would connect I would say 2-3 every round average.

Williams was beating his ass up in the inside, making him back up.

I could see how they gave the fight to williams... Backing up how Lara was is not something like how mayweather does... he was running at times... that;'s not how you win fight running backing up and thorwing 1-2's...

But its just IMO, and I don't feel like arguing, that's just how I saw it.. I'm just a fan of boxing... am out.

Also, I think the Chavez JR was more of a robbery.

Exactly. By every measure that counts, Lara outperformed him. He landed more shots (despite being outthrown), he landed all the best punches of the fight, and connected at a near 50% connect rate, which is practically unheard of in a fight of this caliber. I know one thing, Lara's stock has gone up in my book not just from the performance during the fight, but for not flipping his **** out when he found out he'd been robbed. He handled it far better than I would've if I'd been in his shoes (and better than I am now from the looks of it)
