Did he ruin Williams or did he just expose the ***** in Williams armor? That step in with a straight left makes Williams look like a moth going after a light...He didn't look shot until he kept getting whacked with it and his corner had no answers...

I really like Martinez but, it does make me wonder if I'm overrating his ko of Williams...

Agreed. If he never had it, he would not have beaten Margo and Martinez.

That's just what made me think he's always been open to that punch, reminds me of the second Jones v Tarver fight....

I'll say Martinez exposed Williams, by laying out the right tactics. Lara was fighting Williams in much the same manner having successs with the same shot. I mean the trainer boldly said, "we ain't changing a thing..." so logicly, do the same thing Sergio did and it should work.

Lara did just that, repeatedly in the fight, landing that timed left. Paul was a bloody mess.

Martinez laid the blue print for Williams. Martinez probably studied Williams after the first fight and knew exactly what to do in the 2nd fight. It's no coincidence...Martinez exposed Williams' weakness and Lara took advantage of it.

No he ruined WIlliams he didnt expose him.... Before the ko he was still getting tagged.. Margarito,Quintana (I) all tagged him and showed he had flaws... But his offense was always his defense.. His offense was so effective that he got away with it..Even Veron Philips tagged him good a few times(despite being dominated).. Williams has lost that edge..... I really believe Williams was as good as the hype, but hes not the same .. Even though he through alot of punches he lost an edge.. Still think hes a solid contender, but his days as an elite are clearly over.

true...Williams used to throw a shitload of punches as his offense, its a crapshoot when coming of a brutal ko loss you will do as well as you once did.

I like how he told Lara the game plan before the fight, 'nah, we're not changing a thing...'
