Atlas reminds me of Bas Rutten. In the early days of Pride I used to love his commentary. Then he slowly started to be come a celebrity and lost that blatant, honest quality I liked him for. Both try to be to 'cutesy' which simply isn't their strong suit. People bitched about Lennox Lewis commentating on HBO but I really liked him. He wasn't eloquent but what he said was usually dead on in terms of what was happening in the fight. Paraphrase: Lampley goes on and on about why isn't figher A doing this, doing that, doing whatever trying to show off his boxing knowledge. Lennox Lewis: "Because fighter B won't let him". :rofl He made those idiots look like, well, idiots. That is why he is gone.:deal
Good because a guy who considers his FNF schedule more important than training his fighter for what may be the toughest fight of his career, shouldn't be a trainer. And honestly you never really saw much enthusiasm from Atlas when mentioning or talking about Povetkin. I think his heart is more into being a bad commentator. Povetkin is a good fighter. If he's in it for the money then cash in and try to put up a valiant effort and go out on your shield against Wladimir (I know ...easier said than done) so people would want to see him in other high profile fights. But he's NOT beating Wladimir. Alex would be stopped within 8-9 rounds. If he truly wants to improve as a boxer then join team Steward and drop down to cruiserweight. God knows Povetkin could cut 20 plus pounds of **** weight. He would be a pretty good size cruiserweight at 6'2" and training with Steward I would wager that he would be THE man in that division.
Okay, Haye went from counter-punching to counter-punching less. A real change in tactics. Wasn't the 12th round of his best rounds in the fight, anyway?
Lewis' analysis was pretty good most of the time, but yeah he wasn't a great speaker. It's tough to find someone who can do both apparently. Lewis could be a bit of a homer for the HBO guy though, not as bad as Kellerman but he was up there.
y because he landed a big right??no not really the fight i seen in the 12th after haye landed that wlad held then started letting his hands go landed some cracking 1-2s...just because the underdog lands some big punches in a round dosnt mean he wins it..hayes best round was 3..in my opinion thats the only round he won on his own..all he done was wake wlad up my guessin he was lucky he done that in the 12th and not the 10th or haye would have been kod....:bbb:bbb
Teddy Atlas held gun to Mike Tyson's head and once pushed George Foreman. He is lucky to be alive. I'd like to see him go after Mike Tyson without a gun, or push George Foreman when not in front of the cameras.
Thought you were....who is the biggest sparring partner you have seen Wlad take on? Also what are Wlad and Vitali like in general? Any stories in sparring?? For example is a certain sparring guy really good but **** in fight and visa versa.
