I had a chance to sparr against Paul Williams

It was when he was training for the quntania (rematch) fight, the first thing I noticed that was funny was that Peterson didn't care if you was a southpaw or not, to him it was the same thing (stupid). Peterson and my coach Adrian Davis are good friends, anyway he would jump rope for 10 min after stretching, and then shadow box for a while, and Peterson would yell for him to roll his head, and throw more punches, Peterson also told him to extend his punches which is a good idea if youre gonna fight tall, but never understood why he told Paul that. Back to the sparring of course I said hell NO via some lame story like " I got some where to be" or some other lame story, anyway I wasn't the only ***** in the gym Dominic Wade ducked him, and Henry " sugar poo" Buchanan who lost a 12 rd UD to ward ducked him and he fights at 168. Nobody in the gym wanted to.fight him cause word was out he cut people and nobody wanted to get cut. Now this is some other dumb **** Peterson used to do he would put Paul in with light heavyweight just to get some sparring.

So at the end of the day this guy was sparring right handed light heavies for a quintana fight talk about a bad trainer smh.


* sad part is some newbie from University of Maryland boxing club had the balls to sparr with him, I'm pretty sure the white guy had no idea who he was until after he got dragged out the ring, but atleast he has one hell of a story to tell and gets mad respect when cones to the gym now.

I didn't wanna go in there with regular head gear I wanted the one with that extra bar.that across your face that stops u from taking real damage.

His failure was only a matter of time, now I can only imagine the line across the street full of guys who would be trying to land that overhand left in boxing gyms all over the world.

 

Why didnt you spar him? It would be a good experience

He's none to cut people bad, and most gyms in DC are whole in the walls with no insurance, but if I had the head gear that looked like a football helmet you know.the one with xtra protection I might have.

 

To be honest, I was expecting you to say that you had the chance to spar him, but for some reason it didn't come off. You should have jumped in with him, really good experience, and sparring is sparring.

 

If I were you I would have done it.

 

I should of, If had the super protective head gear that has the part that stops nose from getting broken I would got in their.

 

You should have gotten in there and got your nose broken then you could have something interesting to say when you pick chicks up.

 

I'd have got in there. Why not? Chance of scoring a flashy flash KD!

 

I'm 5"5 and 147lbs... and I would've got in there with him!
It would;ve ended quick but a good experience nonetheless

Who cares if you woulda been cut or crushed - you missed beaucoup bragging rights there...

 

I would have sparred Pwill and brag about it on ESB. "Hey, I got knocked the **** out by Paul with my helmet on".

 

So easy for us all to sit back and say "i would have got in there with him"

 

Everyone on the Internet would have got in there with him, whats the problem?

 

Im sure if it was Mike Tyson, everyone would be the same "i would definitely went to spar with Mike"
