This fight was even more one sided than Molina vs Cintron.

 

I was out with my girl last night and haven't had a chance to watch this fight yet. However, my brother did watch it, and this is the exact texting conversation that we had;

My brother: Paul needs to retire

Me: What happened?

My Brother(after the fight and before scorecards came out): Domination by Lara. No knockdowns

My Brother(after scorecards came out): Never mind, the judges cheated the **** out of Lara. I mean, worst decision ever. Roy Jones says it's Seoul Korea all over.

Now I know some people act like robberies never happen, but from everything I've gathered, it seems like this was a robbery. It seems like everyone(including Williams), except the judges, had Lara winning by a wide margin. I can't wait to check this fight out and see for myself. I've told plenty of people that once you get knocked out cold like Williams was, chances are, you'll never be the same. It seems like that's the case for Williams.

 

You can call it a ****ing travesty if it feels better. Too bad people take it out on PDub not on the corrupt judges. But in all likeliness you'll come back saying Lara won but it wasn't THAT bad, sometimes this robbery talk works the other way. Anyway, expect an 8-4ish scorecard and a huge disparity in clean effective punching.

 

No robbery a close fight. HBO of course were behind it all with the hatred for PW.

 

Totally. Lara landed more, controlled the pace of the fight despite being outsized, and straight up looked better.

 

I hate the word robbery, i beleive it is over used and close fights get labeled robberies nothing about this fight was competiive williams won 3 rounds maximum

 

At best(for Williams) the fight was 8-4 for Lara. This was the most disgusting decision of the year by far. I personally had it exactly like Lederman 9-3 for Lara.

 

I've seen worse (Campillo-Shuemenov) but it was still a pretty bad decision.
There are a few posters on the gf who feel Williams won but I strongly suspect they're ******ed.

 

Williams got rewarded for throwing over a thousand meaningless arm punches I guess.

 

Saw the fight this morning on youtube, jesus christ williams has no defence. He was constantly getting hit with the same punch martinez knocked him out with it was embarrassing.

Williams is to hard headed now I can see why he wanted to retire young as he has been exposed, and doesn't have the motivation to switch up his style and fight tall. The blue print is well and truly laid out for him, he got shaky legged i think as early as round 2 or 3, that's when i knew williams is done.

Martinez ended his career.

 

the hbo commentators were basically pleading for the fight to be stopped as williams was taking left hand after left hand.

You could say Quintana did he makes the same mistakes and hasnt learned

Martinez did nothing different then Quintana just got the KO

 

Damn shame. This is why guys like Merchant **** me off. He wants everyone to come foward and brawl for the entire fight. Some guys just aren't built for that. Williams is going to continue to get battered. His chin has already been cracked, and will shatter against a big puncher. Unless he is carefully matched, he's going to get seriously hurt.
