If you could have seen Floyd Mayweather fight 1 of these guys, who would it be?

Excuses are all too easy for Mayweather when it comes to fights not being made.

Tszyu petitioned Showtime for the Mayweather fight, if Mayweather did likewise with HBO it could've been made instead of the Gatti fight, but he always wanted Gatti, because of the hype, and obviously the style. If he wanted to prove himself, logical thing would be to go after the best, not Gatti.

Margarito should've happened, Arum wanted it. Floyd didn't. Arum threw Cotto into more punishing fights than a Mayweather fight would be, FLoyd could've had it if he wanted it, same with Williams.

Any of those were certainly better than the Marquez fights and the time wasted in retirements and vacations. And I give full credit for the Mosley fight unlike some.

Pac was not the only worthy opponent, they all were and all would've added to his legacy. However if he fights Pac he will redeem himself alot as Pac is clearly the greatest of those fighters.

Let's stick to your actual comment chum.

So you're telling me that hypothetically Floyd's resume would not be considered better if it looked like this:

    This content is protected

You're telling me that wouldn't be considered a better resume from 140-147 than this:

    This content is protected

Is that really what you're saying here? Really? :think:think:think

That's why I said most fighters on the list, not all. It would have been slightly better, but people would still hate and give him ****. Marg, Cotto, and Willams have all been raped badly. People would have discredited those fights big time.

He would be. Those guys were the best of the best from 140-147 in Floyd's time there, all presented different styles and challenges, if he handled them all, with his ATG ability and skill and undoubted legacy at super feather and lightweight, how could he not be? You're just not rating those guys as they should be because Floyd didn't fight them.

Mayweather wanted to Tsuyu. But he had a network and a promoter who called the shots. He wasn't nearly as big then.

And Floyd agreed to the Margarito and Cotto fights, but Arum refused to pay him properly and told his #1p4p fighter that he wasn't gonna get him the 20million dollar fight with DLH.

Seeing has Floyd went on to get 25million, he made the right choice.

So floyd beating tzsyu in 04, cotto mosley and margo as well as williams and pac would make floyd and top 10 ATG :rofl

Glad we got a little sense out of you in the end, even if it had to be forced out. Why you guys are so blatantly biased beats the hell out of me.

    :huh

Of course wins over Cotto, Williams and Margarito back then would have been worth much, much more than wins over Baldomir, Hatton, Judah, and Sharmba Mitchell. Of course they would. FFS!

My whole point is that the slight increase in resume, doesn't warrant the hate he gets for fights that didn't happen especially when they weren't his fault or they didn't make business sense.

Ideally Floyd should of fought Pacquiao in November 2010 after Beating Mosley, but if he comes back with a solid victory over Ortiz and Pacquiao looks excellent against Marquez then May 2012 I think it's still going to be bigger than ever.

    make the thread.
post the question, if he had Tszyu, Cotto, Margarito, Paul Williams and Pac on his resume would posters consider him worthy of being a top ten ATG

    No.

He would be rated a hell of a lot higher than he is now, but still not a top 10 fighter.
