Greatest Heavyweight of the 90's

Who was the greatest heavyweight of the 90's OUTSIDE the elite of Tyson, Bowe, Holyfield, Foreman, Lewis, Holmes?

Im talking about the next tier level of fighters. Who was the best accomplishment wise and H2H?

Each of the above has some claim to say they were better than the rest

 

off the top of my head, i'd say moorer

the wins over cooper, schultz, botha and of course holyfield compare with the "best of the rest" of the 90s quite favourably

I went for Douglas

 

Should have voted douglas but i'm not sure about his longevity.

Went for golota, snacking the **** out of bowe twice and effectively ending his career is very impressive.

I might have voted byrd had he been on the list.

 

Golota has the 2 Bowe wins, but he also has the 2 ass whoopings from Lewis+Tyson.

Its tough, one thing ive noticed is, every single one of the guys above has a great win, an honourable loss or a down right embarassing loss

 

Byrd, Ruiz or Moorer. Byrd and Ruiz are more like late 90s/early 2000s hws.

 

not to be a stickler, but he did lose both of the bowe fights. i know, i know. they were good PERFORMANCES but he really did straight up lose

but were those performances enough to say he was better than the rest?

 

i'm a pretty big golota hater and i'll say he may have been the most talented of the non-champs. however, he didn't net a single significant win in his career. performances aside, you gotta win once in a while to rank above someone who clearly beat holyfield or a prime mike tyson

 

I respect the majority of your posts man but I have to disagree here.

Outside of douglas against tyson golota put on the best performance of the nearly men when he beat bowe from pillar to post. Officially bowe got the win but he came out of them fights a loser.

 

I'd have to go with douglas because not only is his win against tyson the greatest win of the group, by far, but it was the greatest performance produced by anyone in the group...by far as well. Also, I believe that THAT buster douglas would have beaten anyone on the list. Douglas by a landslide.
