I'd love to see him in the ring with Pavlik so we can see about the hand speed thing. Pick a 'ring' weight and go for it. Paul entered last night at 170, so let them check in an hour or two before the fight at 170....
As is often the case, fans are overreacting. This fight was MUCH closer than the HBO commentators made it appear. They seemed on the verge of hysteria at points, and it is clear that their rantings have colored people's perceptions. I thought Lara won, but is was close.
Which rounds were clearly Paul's, IYO? Lara had half a dozen crystal clear rounds at least. There were some close ones, and a couple of early ones for P-Dub. Lara won anywhere in the 8-10 round range, depending on how much slack you want to cut Williams in some of the closer rounds where Lara didn't deal quite as much punishment while the Punisher's motor kept humming steady. Even 7-5 to Lara seems far too generous to Williams. It wasn't a shutout, but it wasn't any closer than 8-4.
How is it smart that the executives who work for a particular network, play an active role in the choice of judges? Imagine the outcry after the first questionable scorecard. HBO would want nothing to do with it. Sending in an online scorecard? Have you ever sat ringside at a fight? Maybe had a little different perspective than what you saw on tv? State commissions should have judges explain their scorecards. But that has nothing to do with HBO. It's a systemic problem within the sport.
It was nothing like Pacquiao versus Diaz. Turn it off damn lmao. For one damn day can we get a post without you mentioning Pacquiao
Not to beat a dead horse... but any reasonable person can see that decisions like Lara/Williams are not accidental. It's rigged! How the hell are 3 professional (supposedly impartial) judges all going to fk up to that extent... on the same night? Its basically imposible to deny. My question is... How is it done? Is Dan Goosen sneeking around meeting guys in coffee shops with brown paper bags full of 100 dollar bills? Or is it just "understood" that part of earning your pay, and getting hired again in the future means giving rounds to the Goosen/Tutor fighter regardless of what's actually happening in the ring?
100 % rigged BS What are the chances of 3 judges scoring all almost the same in a fight that all of them have off by like 6-8 points swing . If this was scored 114-114 , 116-112 Lara and 115-113 PW or something like that I could sort of call the two judges ******s but when all 3 of them have like 1 point difference on their scorecards in favor of a guy that should have lost by atleast 4 rounds its not just suspect . All 3 should be banned for life .
Whats funny is how Weird the scores were. 116-115....How is somthing like that possible? wouldn't they of had to have alot of 10-10 rounds? 119-110 was another crazy score. And of course there is always the draw score too.
I think it's "understood". No brown paper bags, but they know they won't get another gig unless they score it "right".
119-110 PW in his first fight against Martinez could be the worst score I have ever seen . That judge should be shot for robbing people like that .
