    To start, I do not think Pacquiao-Mayweather will ever occur. I could be wrong, but I'm not holding my breath.

    So let's get to five likely names (one is already signed and delivered) as Pacquiao winds down his career. This is a rough order of how they might chronologically line-up to face Pacquiao:

    * Marquez
    * Timothy Bradley (if Arum signs him)
    * Cotto II (if he beats Margo in the rematch; Cotto II could come before Bradley)
    * Brandon Rios
    * Mike Jones

    Now, there could be a flip-flop between Rios and Jones, I suppose. But Jones still needs more exposure and seasoning, so he would probably be Pac's final fight, I'm guessing.

    Arum needs to sign up Bradley ASAP to get him in line for Pacquiao. That will be a good fight against an unbeaten African-American fighter. Ditto for Jones, if he continues to win. And Rios is an unbeaten fighter of Latino heritage, so that should also be a very solid draw if he continues to be built up properly and continues to win.

    Cotto needs to take care of Margarito, and Pac's dance card could be all set up. I guess Alvarez is a wild card here, but he's a young 154-pounder who is not going to get any smaller. Still, that could be a very lucrative fight. We'll see. Also in the mix would be Ortiz should he defeat Mayweather, which I seriously doubt will occur.

    So, potentially 3 unbeaten opponents, a trilogy fight and a potential "revenge" rematch against a solid Puerto Rican draw who is also a multi-division champion who would be seeking to take care of his only unavenged career defeat.

    For Arum and Pac, if they go this route, things could work out well.

    Hello Paul, you crazy man.

    I could see that, definitely. You really don't see Mayweather happening then? Illuminate me on that.

    Which of these guys do you think would give Pac the most trouble?

    Do you really think Cotto II could be sold to the American public?

    Who is your "first alternate" if we allow Mayweather cannot be involved?

    What do you think this does for Pac's legacy if he goes unbeaten?

    Anyone else, feel free to pitch in on these questions.

    In no particular order:

    Rios @ 144 catchweight

    Canelo @ 150 catchweight

    Martinez at @ 154

    I really doubt Pac will fight Mike Jones... but I think he will fight Bradley. Then Mayweather. No real reason for Pac to fight Ortiz, until Ortiz unifies like Bradley did in the LWW division.

    Even further down the list is Alvarez and Maravilla. One Alvarez is nobody, and two Maravilla can bang... but hey Pac has surprised us all with the Margarito fight. I remember when roach was like, we have no intention of fighting at 154 when that rabbi was champ (then Cotto beat him).
    Pac I guess could fight Cotto again too...

    McGrain, my man! What's up? :good Good to see you. :happy

    I have to answer fast as I have to run to the store. I'll be back later on though.

    Let's see:

    I don't think either side really wants the Pac-PBF fight. Maybe Floyd does after the Shane fight, but I'm still skeptical. I don't think Arum wants the fight, because I don't think he wants to make Floyd money or wants to give Floyd a chance to beat Pac.

    I have not really watched Jones fight, so I will go with Marquez to give Pac the most trouble, at least until further notice. Yes, he's older and heavier, but he just knows how to fight Pac.

    Cotto II can be sold if Cotto beats Margo, definitely. Because then it's Cotto's only "unavenged" loss, he's still a draw (especially in NYC and w/ Puerto Ricans), and he can say he went and won another belt in a higher division. It can be done.

    Not sure about the alternate, I said Alvarez and Ortiz, but I'm sure there are others. If PBF gets in the picture, then I think Rios may be the odd man out. Maybe Jones.

    If Pac stays unbeaten for the rest of his career, I'm guessing maybe Top 10-15 ATG, perhaps?

    What do you think, man? I'll be eager to read your thoughts a bit later. :bbb:thumbsup

    I have a feeling Pac's last fight will be at 154 against Canelo in Mexico, which will give Alvarez some time to keep raising his own stock, which is already damn high for as young as he is. And the payout for it will be absolutely mindblowing as long as Carlos Slim is still alive and kicking.

    Of course that could change depending on how things go with Mayweather, but I'm not counting on that fight until I see both guys in the ring for it. If that doesn't go through, the ultimate endgame would be a superfight with Alvarez IMO.

    Lets make a lifetime ban bet on the May vs Pac fight that it happens in 2012 or announced by the end of 2012.

    Can't discount this possibility. It could take place at an even lighter weight, say 150 or so.

    McGrain, Martinez could be another wild card along with Ortiz and Alvarez.

    Here's the thing (then I'm really going to the store): Arum has rights on 3 of the guys already (Jones, Cotto, Rios) and Marquez is already delivered. We know Bob likes to keep things in house. So that only leaves Bradley, and Arum is already working on that.

    If I had to pick one wild card among Alvarez, Ortiz and Martinez, I would pick Alvarez. He is already huge in Mexico, and money talks. If Ortiz beats PBF, though, then he could be the top guy for Pac.

    Nope. No more bets for me.

    I agree with what Rock is saying above: Alvarez could be Pac's swan song/cash-out fight. I definitely could see that.

    LOL at BigBone's mention of Jose Cotto. Good one! :happy

    I'm out for now!

    I wouldn't mind seeing him fight Devon Alexander. He's got Don King and I think he showed a LOT of heart against that argentinian guy.

    Also, the Argentinian guy that was robbed against Alexander would be one helluva fight.

    But let's be honest black fighters, have looked like SH*T against Pac. We need hungry black young fighters against Pac. I honestly don't think it will ever happen though.
