Yes, I think they are looking to fight Pavlik and then Kessler in Copenhagen. Alternatively Froch in Newcastle or Ward somewhere in the US.

Yes... we have seen his boxrec profile...

The problem... is that we have also seen his actual fights and no boxrec rubbish will save Pavlik here. I think Pavlik has some 10% chance in this one.

An article appeared about 4 hours ago that makes it fairly obvious that Bute is over looking Pavlik. He already has his next 2 or 3 fights all mapped out including a defense of the undisputed championship in Romania.

Bute is making a serious mistake with this line of thinking. Kelly Pavlik is not someone an opponent should over look or under estimate.

This fight means everything to KP. He knows his position among world class fighters is on the line. In addition, he feels that the success of his fledgling promotional company depends on his own success in the ring. Therefore, he feels that both his boxing career and his post boxing career are on the line.

Pav is going into this fight ready to lay absolutely everything on this one fight. If Bute truly is ignoring that, he's a damn fool.

If Bute's as been able to prepare properly for Brinkley,Magee and Mendy and take them seriously you can be damn sure he will be ready for Pavlik!

They're not gonna lose money, they're gonna make money. It's an investment, and it will almost certainly pay off. It's America.

Bute didn't overlook Mendy; mostly, we, the fans tend to draw premature conclusions after a boxer talks about his aspirations and goals; the Andrade I lesson will stay with Bute till the end of his career

Booradley, you're too experienced to fall for bull**** in an article.... If it doesn't come right out of Bute's mouth, it doesn't mean ****.

He trained as hard or harder for Mendy than for anyone else before. He was in his own country acclaimed like a hero and sticked to preparing at his hotel giving very few interviews up until the fight.

When a guy acts like that in such special circumstances against a lower caliber boxer, you can bet your house that he'll be as ready as ever before to beat the best version of Pavlik in that ring.

He takes his craft very seriously and if he carefully prepared for Mendy ...well you can only imagine how he'll prepare for Pavlik.

The article I referenced in post #139 is on B . . . . . S . . . . Bute and Pavlik fans alike should all read it. If I were pulling for Bute, I would find it troubling. I'm not trying to start a pissin' match, so read the article before you blow off my interpretation.

Yes, I think Bute is overlooking Pavlik NOW, and I do have to admit that I see Bute as quite alarge favorite. Pavlik should be very happy though if Bute overlooks him.

But once the fights gets closer I don't think he will overlook PAvlik, because although Pavlik isn't the name he used to be, he is still the best name on Bute's resume... so Bute will be fully focused I'm sure.

found only one article there, very short and very shallow; here is what Bute had to say about his next fight in an interview for a romanian site:

    - What next? Will you fight to unify world titles?
    - ShowTime already booked November 5. Most likely I will box with Kelly Pavlik. However, he has to fight in August, only after that we will complete the negotiations. I want everything to go as planned so we will fight in November in USA.

    ....

    - There is a possibility for you to fight in the future with the winner of super 6? Who do you prefer?
    - I want that; but until Froch - Ward, there is quite a few months to pass; I have no preferences, but personally I think Ward has more chances to win.

It sounds silly, but sometimes fans tend to forget that fighters are only human. We humans all like to talk about our dreams and aspirations, and that may be all Bute was doing in the article I referred to. BUT, it came off arrogant. In any case I'm not putting to much weight on it. I just thought it was an interesting point for discussion.

Atlantic City is a great location. Basically half way between Montreal and Youngstown. L like Kelly but I have a feeling that Bute is really going to shine in this one. A big, strong fast lefty who is constantly improving is a nightmare for anyone.

the press tend to distort reality or dismiss important details; Bute has big respect for all the boxers; he said that this is the sport from which all of them (including him) make a living from so therefore he cannot badmouth any of them; he also said about Hopkins, Pavlik, Ward, Froch and Kessler that they are great champions and i am pretty sure most boxing fans can relate to his opinion
