I disagree. The problem is that Solis looked really bad suffering that knee injury but he was 3 times better than Lara in the amateurs. Also, since Solis has fought 30 to 40 pounds overweight, that has taken much of his real skills away. If Solis was at 220 pounds you will understand what I am talking about!

I give Lara good chance of winning against Canelo if he goes in with the right gameplan. He certainly has the physical tools to win.

Who the heck ranks Dorticos in the top 10? He's never even fought more than a 6 round fight.

 

Williams was tailor-made for Lara, and I said that since the fight was signed. Considering he probably should have lost to Molina though, it's tough to say he'd be a favorite against everyone. Williams just happens to have no defense. Put Lara in there with someone who can punch a little and has solid defense, and his workrate drops to a trickle.

 

Dortico is number 13 in IBF. Yes i was surprised too.

If you fight Welter Hatton, Rhodes the punching bag and now Gomez the midget you will look great too, now against Brewer in your 9 fight then Molina without training (his fault) and PW the Light Heavyweight and let me know how you come out on the other side.

 

So now Williams doesn't punch, a 6'3" guy 170+ lbs and 3 times world champion that has hang in there with the Brickell Margarito, Martinez, Winky Wright, Cintron etc.. is taylor made for a 5'8" 154 pounder with 15 fights, he didn't loss the molina fight, he got out hustle in some rounds and still managed to land the better punches, a draw was fair, if they fight again molina will b schooled, mark my words.

 

No sooner had new WBA Super Bantamweight Champion Rico “Suavecito” Ramos had his arm raised victoriously after his seventh-round knockout of defending champion Akishumni Shimoda last Saturday night in Atlantic City, WBA Interim titlist Guillermo “The Jackal” Rigondeaux issued an instant challenge to the 24-year-old Ramos for a supreme 122-pound showdown.

The Shimoda-Ramos fight was on the verge of being called off when Rigondeaux’ Irish manager, Gary Hyde, through renown boxing lawyer Patrick English, lodged an objection to the WBA. The action resulted in the promoters for both Shimoda and Ramos being instructed to make a deal with Team Rigondeaux or their fight wouldn’t be sanctioned.

As WBA world Interim champion, Rigo should have been the next challenger for Shimoda’s title, but the Japanese champion by-passed Rigondeaux in favor of an easier title defense against Ramos.

Top Rank-promoted Rigo will now fight Ramos (20-0, 7 KOs) and the Cuban sensation has vowed to take the title belt from Ramos. “I stepped aside and let the fight go ahead,” Rigondeaux explained, “even though they ignored the fact that I was next in line. Ramos will soon regret that he won the title when we get it on.

“Ramos is a tough, aggressive fighter but those types of fighters suit me. I promise he will not have enough time to enjoy this victory because I will be taking that belt from him when we meet in the ring. My goal is to be the undisputed 122-pound world champion and I want to achieve this goal by the end 2012.”
