    There are probably older guys, but to start it off:

    Matt Skelton was 35 when he turned pro.

    Yes he was - 35 years, 9 months.

    Considering Sonny Liston was said to be 50 when he lost to Ali then he must've been about 40 when he turned pro.:hey

    I don't know about these old guys but Radamacher belongs in the mix...he fought for the world title in his
    first pro fight...

    Yes, but there are rumours he boxed professional in the late 1930s, and took up boxing again later on in jail c. 1950.

    Skelton's title was the equivalent of the Leyland Daf Trophy in football.
