I'm confused then. You said "it could come down to location". What does that have to do with American SMWs not winning in Europe? The fight is in America. Help me untangle your logic.
Easy win for Ward. He's a class above Froch. Although I am not a fan of Froch at all. I hate watching him fight, he's horrible.
I'm not expecting Froch to win either but anything is possible. Froch proved a lot of people wrong in this tournament.
I wouldnt say this would be an easy win for Ward...One thing you can say about Froch is that he will come to fight and push Ward to his limits...I'm expecting Ward to win but not by easy in anyway shape or form.
I should re-phrase it. A wide decision with Froch giving a decent account of himself taking a some close rounds. But Ward will show he is a class above imo.
You don't know what you're talking about. I slightly favor Ward based on his versatility and speed, but Froch has arguably the better jab, and if Ward elects to fight on the outside, I think he loses a decision. On the inside, Ward gets the better of Froch, but it's clear that Froch has been making improvements in his inside game. It was noticable against Johnson. Both of these guys make improvements in every fight, and they are both highly skilled; however, I think Ward is a little better. Honestly though, this fight could go either way.
You're underestimating the importance of footwork. Ward's is far more deft and economical than Froch's and while Froch could have success with his jab, which is quite good, he won't because he'll never be able to get set long enough to follow up behind the jab.
I prefer Froch to Ward, but I don't see Froch winning this one. I'll be rooting for him, but Ward has the goods. Froch was being outboxed by Taylor till that last minute KO. Not to menion, Froch was dropped by Taylor and Jermian couldn't even drop so called shot fighters like Pavlik or totally shot fightes like Lacy. Froch better be careful.
He's had success with every single opponent with his jab with the exception of Kessler. But that's also because Kessler elected to fight inside. I believe Ward will do the same thing and that's why he will win, but if attempts to fight Froch the duration of the fight at range, I think Froch will win. He has a much longer reach and is consistantly improving his jab, along with all of his other punches. Froch's inside work against Kessler was horrendous. His punches had no snap on them. Against Johnson, he showed that he's made strides to improve this as you could see quick, snapping shots on the inside, along with a solid right uppercut. I think this could be a very competitive fight, and I don't think that Froch will allow Ward to completely manhandle him like Johnson did. At the same time, Bika is a very rough fighter, and Ward handled him pretty well on the inside and won a clear decision. With that said, I think the ref may come in as a significant factor in this fight. If the ref is like the one against Abraham who broke up the fighters quickly on the inside in a clinch, this will not bode well for Ward. At times even Abraham was having success with his jab, and Froch is a much better outside fighter than Abraham. And Froch's skills, including his footwork is underrated. Yes, at times, he was caught against the ropes against Johnson, but the majority of the fight he managed to keep Johnson off of him.
Simple truth is anyone that says EITHER will win easy or cannot possibly lose are either complete fanboys or just plain dumb.
I see this a close fight you would expect Ward to out box Froch but i dont think it will happen, Froch has got skills and i expect Ward to be tested by some big shots... I think the most skilled super middleweight in the division is Dirrel but he is like the tin man he has no heart, shame.....
