Froch's not very good inside. He likes to be outside, with his long jab and hands low.

I know Ward beat Bika, but you mentioned mental toughness, and Ward hasnt had to show that in fights away and wanted all of his fights at home, unlike the rest of the original S6 who travelled, so as said, that could be Wards mental weakness showing through.

I didnt say Froch cant win away, as he has proven it more than once, (now concentrate) Ward hasnt.
Tell me when an American SMW has won a world title fight in Europe? There is very few. The only one I can really think of is when cheat Toney won in Italy and that was years ago. Most have failed.
Read the quote below and notice I said "In America, American SMWs do a bit better". Which is correct. If the fight was in Europe, his chances wouldnt be as good as he wouldnt be allowed to get away with alot of the illegal tactics he used against Kessler

froch is a limited fighter compared to ward but im pretty sure he's gonna give him a very good fight. frochs reach and power will mean ward cant just muscle his way in cus froch will catch him.

Edit: The only thing you've done towards Ward was simply hate on him! Who cares if you dont think he has mental toughness! IMO he's showed that he has it on more than one occasion.

 

Ward has a more than decent chin. Kessler , Bika, Miranda and even Abraham couldnt hurt him. All sans abraham have pretty good power. the fights you referenced were 6 years ago. yes 6 years ago. he has developed alot as a fighter and he has far from a shaky chin.

 

Ward is nastier than people give him credit for. His punches are getting shorter and crisper every year. I wouldn't be surprised if he starts putting fighters away more frequently.

 

Not one of them hit him with a flush power shot because of his defense and footwork and still, I noticed several grazing shots that froze him for a second. Chins don't get better, only worse, and while I don't think Ward's is certified Grade A china, it's not iron and Froch can crack it. He probably isn't going to however, because, while his jab is good, he won't be able to string power behind it because his footwork isn't up to the task of pinning Ward on the ropes or cornering him for long enough to land it.

 

he has never been legitimately hurt in the past few years facing much better competition. i wouldnt call his chin a liability by any means. froch has a great chin as well . with that said i see Ward with a clear UD.

 

You say that he's never been legitimately hurt in the past few years as evidence that his chin is solid but that's because he hasn't been hit flush. It's suspect, not glass, not iron, not solid, but suspect. Many esteemed chincheckers "suspect" that his mandible is malleable and until a puncher hits it hard, we'll have to keep suspecting.
