    Happy Birthday guy!!!!!!!:nut:nut
    Does anyone find this insane incredible that a guy with nickname "Raging Bull" lived to 90 years old and last I heard him talking, he sounded pretty eloquent and not anything close to James Toney.....

    I have to admit I know most about him from the movie so maybe those facts about him are wrong...
    but a guy lives to 90 years who...

    took bare fist punches to the grill from his brother Joey to prove that he can take Joe Louis's best punch:yep
    survived the most insane offensive onslaught from the greatest fighter who ever lived in what is now called "St. Valentines day massacre"
    fought the greatest, hardest hitting, and brutally offensive minded fighter Sugar Ray Robinson 6 times.
    used his face to block punches.
    -heard he despised himself so hed go in the fight taking punishment to feel better about himself.
    -bloated up between fights
    - and of course had the strongest jaw in history of the sport meaning he wasn't shy away from taking anyones best..



    so how does this guy live this long while others get braindamaged in amateur boxing and are punch drunk by 40???

    thats awsome..was befor my time..but from what iv read..and seen of him..looked like a tuff as nails kind of guy....happy birthday.

    LaMotta was known for being pretty good at using his upper body and hiding behind his shoulders to avoid shots. You wouldn't know it by watching the last 3 rounds of the 6th Ray fight though. My god he got the **** beaten out of him.

    The movie also made him look like a Saint compared to how he really was (or at least how he described himself in his autobiography, what a ****ing scumbag).

    I'm trying to do some more research in between studying for school, but it looks like Jake might've actually won another one of his matches with SRR, too.

    That's besides the point though....it's insane that he took the punishment he did and is still functioning at 90. There's guys who didn't take a fifth of what he did who sound more punchy then him at half his age. Crazy, but that's the luck of the genetic draw sometimes. I think he inherited the Homer Simpson "helmet inside the skull" gene.
