Nobody is ever impressed by Bute. I am not impressed by Ward either.

Ward has the best fundamentals and boxing IQ of anyone else in the division. Bute has talent and skill, no doubt, but consistently KOing a mediocre level of opposition isn't that telling of what you can do at an elite level. The Miranda win was impressive, for example, but there's not much from him that really surpasses the level of competence that Ward has shown. I'm not really a big fan of his but I know a well-schooled and motivated talent when I see one.

Agree. To really be compared to a Ward, you need to be stepping up to the level he has. You can think Bute is better than Ward, but you cant tarnish Ward's reputation to prop up Bute, as Ward is letting the names in his resume build his reputation up, Bute isn't doing that imo, he is letting the performances make it appear he's at that level, but they are against a different level of opposition, so whilst some get a little carried away with comparing him to people like Ward, others are more skeptical of his credentials.

I like them both. However Bute is much more exciting. Ward just gets the job done.

Ward only has 1 name on his resume better than Bute's and that's Kessler.

It's not like he beat the whole division from top to bottom. That being said, Ward is highly skilled and a Ward/Bute fight would be 50/50 in my opinion.

Other than Kessler which opponents highlight the "different level of competition?" Kessler claims he had eye problems before the S-6 started. Abraham and Green aren't as good as Magee and Andrade. Berrio was a better win than almost anyone on Ward's resume'.

The truth of the matter is that Bute has probably fought better opposition than Ward. In their fights with common opponenents Bute won more impressively. There seems to be this assumption that being in the S-6 automatically makes Ward's opposition better than Bute's, but that just isn't true.

Can you please illustrate to us how Ward is slow??:?

Something else that stood out to me, how is Froch above Ward in terms of skills??? I really just dont see how you can come up with this opinion given that Ward has shown that he's a skillful fighter.:-(

true but Kessler is just one fighter. Apart from Kessler what does Ward have on his resume that makes him so superior?

Froch is not more skilled than Ward. However, I do believe Froch is mentally and physically tougher than Ward. Look at the man in my avatar. If boxing skill always determined the outcome of a fight, Danny probably wouldn't even be remembered, let alone inducted into the IBHOF.

I think Ward is mentally and physically strong, maybe not as strong Froch per say but he's had to overcome adversity at times in which I was impressed

I was mainly focusing on the P4P rankings as to why Froch is ranked higher than Ward on the TS P4P list.

I'm sorry but dirty tactics are not for me. You can see that he hits after the referee intervenes.
