You could certainly make a case that Cotto is currently "the man" at 154. But as and if Pacquiao decided to move up I'm pretty sure he would spank him and take his belt again. I also appear to be in the minority here that is pretty certain Margarito will mash him to pieces again. If you can take Cotto's best **** and keep coming forward he has no answers and I don't see that Cotto has improved enough to hit Margo sharper than he did before. I don't think he has even really improved at all to be honest. There is the chance that Margarito's face is too long damaged from the shellacking Pacquiao gave him but one thing I do know is all of you claiming the body shots Pac hurt him with Cotto saw and will do likewise... those were straight punches. Cotto the body punisher did it with lead left hooks. He just doesn't have that punch. And I may be wrong but I do not believe Cotto has the nuts to throw a straight right hand to the body at this point in his career

Sergio is at 160. Molina is good but limited. Lara and him should do it again. Bad stylistically for Lara tho.

Cotto's killer career resume at 154:

    2-0, KO 2

    Yuri Foreman (28-0), W TKO 9
    Ricardo Mayorga (29-7-1), W TKO 12

I agree, even K9 has a better resume than Cotto at 154.

Pac at 154 is a complete farce, if he actually made the 154lbs weight limit he would struggle. Aside from the shame mosley fight, margarito has walked through everybody's "best ****" and kept on pushing foward, i highly doubt that the only way to hurt marg is with pacs magical straight body punches.

Here is The Ring's take on the current Jr Middle weight division:

    Best Puncher

    Alfredo Angulo

    Best Boxer
    Miguel Cotto

    Most Protected

    Damian Jonak

    Most Avoided

    Sechew Powell

    Is he still around?
    Shibata Flores

    Match-Makers Dream
    Miguel Cotto-Alfredo Angulo

    Deserves a tittle shot
Kermit Cintron (**** i dont know about this one)

    Most fun to watch

    Miguel Cotto

    On the way up
    Vanes Martirosyan

    On the way down

    Yuri Foreman

    Best Fight in 2010
    Powel Wolak
    KO7 Jose Pinzon

Obviously Lara,Molina and Canelo are now in the mix, I havent seen much of Molina but im not impressed by Lara so far.

Cotto is rightly number 1 but the division is too fractured to declare a champ imo.

Guys like molina, alvarez, bundrage these guys need to fight each other and give us a clear number 2 or atleast a clear top 3 so we can have some big fights

Who are the 9 idiots that voted for Alvarez? The mofo asked a 147 british hatton club skill level fighter to come up to jr middleweight to fight for the title.

Cotto and Alvarez haven't done anything at the weight, Cotto fought the weakest titlist and a shot Mayorga, Alvarez hasn't faced a top10 opponent. Williams and Dzinderuk had the best resumes, Lara beat Williams (well he did) so he or Dzinderuk should be number 1
