I pretty much agree with this, and unless there's a more elaborate explanation forthcoming, this looks like little more than a PR move to me.

So what if it opens up the flood gates? That's a good thing. Any obvious screw up decision should be individually analyzed and reviewed by the Commission on an individual basis. Any fight that seems controversial can go through that process. Obviously, any close fight isn't a robbery. However, a clear decision just has to be scored for the correct person. Their entire career is resting on the competence of the judges in their fights. I really couldn't care less if a win gets taken away from a fighter who doesn't deserve it. Maybe if these fights are under enough scrutiny, and there is some accountability for these decisions.... then the judges will start scoring them properly.

At the very least this needs to be ruled a NC, and let them fight again. It's absolutely horrible that a fight lost his undefeated record in a high profile fight that he dominated.

It doesn't matter. Those judges already got paid from Haymon.

What is so difficult about seriously controversial decisions being reviewed by the commision? It's part of their job already as it is. They already do that... they just don't usually do anything about it. Clearly, now they realize they have to step in and make a change.

The reactions to the robbery were hilarious. Everyone in the world knew Lara won except those three idiots.

What i like best about this is that those judges will have to earn their way back to the professional ranks, and it might take them years to get back to judging meaningful fights. So they did suffer in the end no matter how much they might've received in the bribe. Kudos to the New Jersey commission. :good

I guess there is still some justice in this world.

The article never said anything about overturning the decision as the commission said it's a subjective process and therefore, there can't be a clear cut answer. But suspending the judges "indefinitely" sends a message to future, possibly corrupt judges. This might make them think twice before going that route. When you're livelihood is at stake, it's a different story.

This is a good thing for boxing.

Only one of the three has ever judged fights with any regularity anyway. The livelihood of the person or persons incompetent enough to hand over such a big fight to this group of people is what should really be at stake.

I'm down with all that you said. Get rid of the judges. Nobody has a shred of proof that there was corruption...so we need to stop throwing that word around.

This decision needs to be changed. Legacies are ruined because of this nonsense. Sven Ottke retired undefeated and 21 time defending world champ.....I rest my case.

Williams even thought he lost, I don't have a problem with this.

Well, they said they found no evidence of bribes, etc. But how can they actually PROVE this stuff? The bottom line is that the judges are either incompetent or corrupt. Either way, they don't deserve to judge. So they will have to earn their way back and start from stratch. That's about as much punishment you can hand out without finding evidence of a bribe. And that's what the commission did.

    Im surprised they got suspended.
I thought they would keep on working.

becasue bad-judging has happened for years, and has become a "norm".
