Yeah he was excellent. He's always spoken well.

 

Very nice bloke but overrated and mishandled throughout his career. Pity.

its a shame the guzman fight didnt come off, he may have saved a bit of face getting slaughtered by a world class fighter and not left to the demise of the mighty nicky cook.

 

will never forget the Gomez fight, he never learned from early on how to deal with the left hook and got obliterated.

nice guy but vastly over rated.

 

He mishandled himself, in all truth. should have stuck with Peter Harrison.

At the end of the day though, he can look back on his career & see that he was a british, european and world champion. Not bad for an overrated fighter

 

was this the fight where he got knocked down then winked to the camera whilst on the canvas then got knocked down again?

 

No way it was an oblieration HMS, although Alex fought like an idiot, he had his moments in the fight, had Gomez badly hurt to the body but as you say, just couldnt dodge that left hook og Gomez and the rest as they say is history...

yes it was a stupid fight he fought, but he was getting ****ed up, his defence was woeful that night, Gomez kept finding the left hook behind Arthur's right hand.

 

True story, I was watching Arthur on the news one day, talking about himself as usual & my mum who doesnt follow boxing or know any boxers saw him & said with a horrified look on her face "Oh my god! Look at that poor boys nose, oh dear thats terrible" etc etc... she couldnt get over it!

So I had to tell her, "mum, hes got a cocknose like Carl Froch, it happens to some boxers!"

Well Im just joking about my reply, but I have never seen mum so horrified about someones nose, except my own of course
