Yes, he was scared, don't kid yourself. Why would he pass 25 mil date at the age of 37?

Oh, and it's questionable what brutalized Vit's face - a punch, laces or braids?

Not only I watch fights but I also have stepped in the ring over 50 times as an amateur :smooch

cos it was blatantly obvious his heart wasn't in it & he had been coasting for ages.

he would have stuck around to face tyson again or rjj cos he could have coasted through those fights...he probably couldn't be bothered to get into shape to face a guy he's already beat; at that stage of his career anyway. it's not like he needed the money.

First of all, every one always need more money, even Bill Gates.

Second, Lenox got a beating, not the other way around, sorry.

He couldn't get bothered to get in shape for 25 mil? The better words would be could he ever get in shape to beat Vitali? Don't think so.

You see the guy in the red shorts in this vid? That's prime Lewis, or close to it at least, a FULL 12 YEARS before Lewis - Vitali and right before Bowe dumped his belt rather than fight him. The fat, lumbering behemoth that Vitali fought is nothing like Lewis in his prime.

then maybe you should show a little more knowledge and common sense than your displaying. Lewis scared of Vitali, never heard anything like it, he had been facing top guys for years and suddenly he starts getting scared, far to experienced and headstrong for that.

The skinny guy who fought Ruddock and Bruno is definitely not prime Lewis. :yep

You are right about the common sense, thanks. Just responding to trolls and obnoxious posters the way they deserve to be responded.

Still, from a common sense point of view, I can't explain Lewis's refusal to give a rematch while the whole world was begging for it.

Yeah they say that vit was training for the undercard but they cant even name the guy he was going to fight. Obviously vitali would prepare differently for fighting the linear champion versus someone unforgettable.

As Chef himself said, vitali's training camp for Adamek is longer than usual, likely because he views him as a bigger challenge than some of the other guys out there.

Lennox was training for Kirk Johnson, which is atleast a known name verus the unknown vitali was prepared to train for. None of the haters can name him without googling.

this is a tough one, but his fight with lewis, i would say was in the prime part of his career, an he was training to fight a shorter fighter, when he got two weeks notice, i believe also won 5 out of 6 rounds, an no question forced lewis to retire instead of meeting a better pre-pared foe in vitali....

    03-05.

Look at him vs byrd and he's so awkward and ineffective, not prime at that point and i'd actually say he was green when he lost to chris.

From lewis on he looked like the best heavyweight in the world.

Compare him v sosnowski, gomez and kingpin to how he was in that 2 years, he's clearly past his best.

Yes he look unstoppable during the comeback, which opened the show with a thrashing of Peter.

His post retirement fights have been among his best performances, the Johnson fight possibly being an exception, due to Johnson running so much.
