One thing Barry didnt lack was good sparring partners - Eastwood bankrolled the best sparring partners and that gym during McGuigans time was probably one of the best in the UK and Ireland, Ken Buchanan showed McGuigan a heck of a lot in sparring....

Barry had some class sparring over in the states aswell against world ranked opponents, I also read in his book that he was sparring Jim watt and Charlie Magri at the age of 17 aswell, and he says he done well with them.

Ha Ha Ha what he wont demand I put on a couple of stone, very nice of him. Why don't we agree an organising group and put this together ourselves and each fighter pick a charity, clear costs with ticket sales and the rest goes to charity, would receive great publicity for the charity's. We could even have it outside Dublin, then Mush and his mate could go (If rumors are true).

There is serious money to be made from such an event, it would be important that every penny goes to charity.

The card in dundalk is a two day event why not get on to your wan and ask her to put on a few of these (what are we talking 3 maybe 4)on the friday night. Most lads will be there for the weigh in anyhow and it would certainly whet the appetite.
