I'm a huge Wladimir fan, but it's pretty obvious now, Vitali is h2h a better fighter than his younger brother. That said, there's no shame in it, really.. Vitali, to me... is a top 5 h2h heavyweight.
That's the thing, he doesn't have paper skin. I've often wondered how much of the damage to Vitali's face was due to Lewis and how much was just bad luck. A rematch would have perhaps settled that question. Winning on cuts, while behind on the scorecards, must be one of the least satisfying (and most controversial) ways to win. At least it is a win.
Really??? Beating Vitali to the point he looked like he just fought a Poalr bear isnt impressive?? Beating a young Tua,Briggs,Ruddock,Bruno,Mercer etc arent impressive wins???? Beating a unified champ in Holyfield(arguably twice) isnt impressive? Are you high sir??
can't disagree with lewis here, i agree with everything he says. right on the money. Wlad is very good, he uses his advantages well, but he would lose to Lennox. that's pretty much a given.
Always easy to talk when you are retired. If he thinks he would beat Wladimir that easily he should have put his money where his mouth is back in the day. He did hold advantages over Wladimir, but Wladimir had advantages over him as well. It's impossible to say from this point in time.
It's all well and good for him to critisize Wladimir's chin, but Lennox forgets that he himself was knocked out a couple of times and he often fought in the same, hesitant way that Wladimir does now. LL was a great champion and arguably a more complete fighter than WK, but I think Wladimir is better at the things that are the primary attributes of both men.
no, i don't think it is impossible. watch lennox, watch wlad, lewis is just better. for a start, lewis knows how to fight, whereas, wlad just does as he's told. he has very little boxing intellect or instinct, on top of that lewis has more skill and power.
