Would Lewis have given Vitali a rematch if he lost the first one?

THE CHAMP: Lennox Lewis raises his arms in victory in his last fight, stopping Ukrainian Vitali Klitschko to retain his WBC heavyweight title in Los Angeles in June 2003

lewis had the same prep so let's cut that out.

if the fight had have happened earlier (1997-2002) lewis wins more definitively.

if it happens later (2004-2005) vitali stops lewis.

You can't hide your sorrow behind the fake bravado. Lenox can only be second best kiddo.

Yes, he is. As was proven during the fight and by all the scores. The glimpses of life Lenox had in the sixth emptied his tank dry. I was pretty sure he won't even come out for the seventh while I was watching it.

Oh, almost forgot the crowd booing, the Merchant's attitude in the post-fight, the bitterness ever since by Lenox. You be the judge (if you can, of course).

The fight was done. They are allowed to relax then. :patsch Too bad he busted up Vitali's face too bad and didn't need anymore rounds to win the fight.

Crowd's boo most fights that end as a result of a doctor stopping it.All you are doing is reaching. Try keeping an open mind.

Why would I call that lucky. I have no reason to think it was luck. It was several punches that did that to Vitali's face. If you can't deal with that, then too bad. And you are nothing more then a troll if you think Vitali beat him. That's just ****in stupid. Did Vitali REALLY beat Byrd too?

You just proved my point - Lenox got lucky. There is no such thing as intentional "face busting".

The most boos were directed at Lenox, only some of it at the premature ending of course.

    Vitali has no legacy. None.

ok. let's judge. lewis won more titles. lewis was undisputed champion & unified the division himself. lewis had a longer more dominant reign as champ. lewis faced better opposition. lewis won when they faced each other.

    what am i missing? :huh

I am not sure about Byrd. While watching the fight I was getting a feeling that Byrd was getting to Vit and he just quit. Why? You can reason in many different ways - inexperience, different mental attitude to "win at all cost" at that time, whatever...

As of "being lucky", how else would you call a cut during the boxing match? Sure as hell it wasn't intentional.
