    Round 5

Sostre misses jabs and wavering rights shot from too far back. Serrano keeps the left front hand down at his trunks, looking to throw one and done left hooks and overhand rights as he greets Sostre. A few pawing jabs by Sostre coming forward, before ducking into Serrano's chest. Serrano just pushes down on him and chops at his arms to keep them from tangling with his. Nice counters on the inside by Serrano, landing the left hook sharply but not following up on it. Rabbit punches to the nape by Sostre as Serrano turns his back to him while ducking.

    50-45 Serrano

50-45 Serrano now, he just looks like the much more complete fighter

He could pick it up a bit, though.

    (or maybe not...stamina issues? :think)

True, he just kinda seems to press on the gas for a bit then just let it go. Too much grappling too. Nevertheless, faster hands, crisper punches, better combos.

He's probably rated at about 7-8 atm IMO. But he's been improving a lot lately.

    Round 6

Serrano is boxing on the outside now, making Sostre miss his warping and long-traveling right hand and that flag-in-the-wind jab. Serrano lets Sostre cut him off by the ropes and land some high flurries. Serrano digs some body shots after they lean together and grind across the ring. Slicing right hand by Sostre coming off the ropes. Serrano knocks him back with a hook. Big chopping right by Sostre. He flurries wildly as Serrano backs away slipping punches with his hands down, still looking clear-headed and strong in his base. Sostre asks the ref to intervene when Serrano goes a bit low. Sloppy clinch fighting, Sostre getting some shots in over the top.

    First Sostre round.

    59-55 Serrano

He's in the mix, definitely. Back end of top ten.

There are some guys he'll never beat, though. Cotto for instance would have to be completely shot to lose to Wolak.

Agree with IB that Sostre took that round, 59-55 Serrano now, though obviously he needs a KO to win at this point. Or a whole lot of KDs.

Logging in late. I gave Sostre rounds 3 and 6, Serrano the other four.

Wolak's a tough as nails pressure fighter with a hard chin. If he keeps improving and Cotto keeps slipping a bit they could cross paths soon enough with Wolak winning. At this point though I'd take Cotto of course.

    Round 7

Both trade and miss jabs. Sostre chases Serrano to the ropes, but gets spun into them. Serrano launches right hands and falls in behind them, pulling out on the breaks and resetting. Cautious and mostly stationary posture by Serrano on the outside. Sostre flurries his way inside, leading with rapid soft uppercuts. Serrano is still throwing once or twice at a stretch, targeting the body but finding Sostre a bit slippery and unable to keep from getting tied up. Jab misses by Serrano and he gets his temples squeezed by the pinning palms of Sostre. Rough body shots by Sostre, smashing away at his back in the clinch.

    68-65 Serrano
