Lewis was a tad slower than Wlad because he didnt punch as straight. Haye would last maybe 6 or 7 rounds with Lennox due to his sharp defensive skills, however as the vast majority of people already know, Lewis is far less likely to take seven steps backwards everytime it looked as if Haye was going to punch back in anger, good tactic imo if you dont want to get hit but not a good tactic if your trying to stop your man. Lewis would make sure hes hitting Haye even when they are in clinching, this would leave Haye with no where to go to avoid getting punished. Haye would have to look at for a greater amount of punches coming his way from a greater amount of angles, eventually he would get tagged by one he didnt see and that would be the end of the fight.
Has Haye blasted anyone outta there at heavy, if he didnt like the thought of forcing a fight with a defensive fighter like Wlad, he wouldnt dream of trying to blast out a more aggresive, headstrong fighter such as Lewis. I know that, you know that and Haye knows that:good
Styles make fights, right? If LL was overly aggressive, he could be lying on his back again. It's happened before, I know that, you know that and Haye knows that. :yep
Styles makes fights certainly which is why Lennox would KO Wlad early and Haye mid rounds despite the fact Wlad is held in higher esteem than Haye.
Vitali was the first to get in a sweet right hand punch that hurt Lewis in just round two. So I think the better question is "Would Lewis still be standing after Wladimir hit him with his right hand??"
I always felt Lennox would have beaten Wlad handily.......and i agree that Vitali would always fair better because he has more durability then Wlad and is willing to take more chances. The thing about Lennox and Vitali is Lennox was definitely on his way out and had a tough time with Vitali because the timing of the fight was right.....a younger version of Lennox would have won more decisively against Vitali but it would not be an easy fight for him by any means with some youth on his side it would have made for a better Lewis performance.Lennox had more skill and more weapons in his arsenal, and while he at times could be tenative and boring he also could step it up and be very aggressive.
If Lewis attacks Wlad aggressively.... with Lennox's bad balance and footwork... Lewis would be going to sleep. Lennox's best bet, and what he would do... is sit back and box. It would be a chess match.
I've never seen a HW Champ so haunted by a victory as Lewis appears to be with Vitali. As far as him knocking out Wlad, we'll never know. Always easier saying you can do it than actually doing it.
If Lewis attacks Wlad aggressively.... Wlad would be going to sleep. Wlad would be even more tentative than usual if Lennox was between the ropes with him.
Lewis was taken out twice by men who were A) willing to take a shot to dish one out B) risked putting everything into one massive shot and C) was taken out early. D) wasn't prime in either defeat. Wlad fits none of the above criteria. Lewis ko before the mid rounds.
