It makes no sense though. If Hatton would have battered him in a easy nights work, why didn't he make the fight, earn a load of money himself and shut up Witter once and for all?

The liklehood is that Witter was very awkward in his prime and would probably have made Hatton look bad in a 12 round fight. Ricky would have been favourite, but I don't think he fancied it.

what did witter offer that would make hatton fight him???

nothing at all - just look at their careers

one was a very good / great fighter....the other....run of the mil champion

can't be proven either way ashish. hatton would of beat witter, but witter made anyone look bad,he was a terrible stylist,a very very poor mans naz.

hatton had bigger fish to fry,and witter was just a ikkle tadpole

I'm not a Ricky Hatton fan by any means, but you are deluding yourself if you think he was scared of Witter.

The reality was that at the point where Witter actually worked himself into a position where the fight could of been made, Hatton had moved onto bigger things.

witter mixed it at world class way before hatton no way hatton did what witter did with judah imho.
witter is / was a risk taker hatton always had to take the safest options/routes, except may / pac where the reward well out weighed the risk:yep

Hatton would have lost to Witter. That's why he ducked him.

Kostya, Collazo, Castillo, Malignaggi, irrelevant of Hattons means of victory or how close they were, would of all wiped the floor with Witter. He was fringe world class.

Yeah I read that yesterday. I'm surprised BN even included the comments. They were well out of order and had no place in there.

It's easy to look back at their careers now. Hatton v Witter could have been made over a period of about 7 years.

Hatton saw Witter as a risk not worth taking. Witter would have made him look poor, which would have potentially stopped Hatton securing big fights in the near future.

    no really,don't mate,i can't laugh again,i got a stitch:lol:

now, right,im no nuthugger,i liked hattons style in the wbu years, was my kind of fighter,he was the best we had at light welter by far.
now witter, good again, but not my kind of fighter, every time he stepped up,he got beat.
and judah fight,:lol:i was,as well as all my mates that night,as we sat there watching a english boxer run 10 marathons in a small ring, embarressed to be english,if witter had 10 weeks to prepare that night, same fight same result(mind you, witter always trained, still dus)
