watching some old fights, and chuck not only had that nasty bomb of a right, but i swear, his chin back in the day was unreal....it seemed like he forgot he was in a real fight until someone cracked him and hurt him...and then the real chuck was ready

so, what was more important for him?

His right hand, combined with timing

Take down defence followed by timing and his right hand.

That's because he fought mostly wrestler's. When he came to PRIDE he knew what was up. Overeem hurt him bad. Rampage beat his ass black and blue. His chin was good. But never great.

Chin, of course. Without superior punch resistance and recovery time he wouldn't have been able to use the right hand. He was losing more than a few fights that his Chin ended up pulling out for him.

When he had you. When he landed and he just ****ing bombrushed you. Tito couldn't get the **** out of the way and he was covering up, it was amazing.

Liddell claims in his autobiography that if it wasnt for his granite chin , he would never of been a UFC champion .

Even though we now see Liddell with no punch resistance what so ever , id still have to say his right hand and his timing of throwing that right hand was his best asset .

Additionally , some of the best TDD the world has ever seen , and even now today you'd be hard pushed to find a 205'er in the world who'd take Chuck down , barring Jones i cant think of one :deal

Except Liddell never had a granite chin or anything remotely close to granite.

He was carrying injuries in both them fights , Randy he gets a free pass for , but for Rampage ............... if he's 100% , he doesnt get out wrestled by Rampage in any era IMO .

Id say his chin was pretty solid , not granite , but good enough for Chuck to over commit to shots and not get fatally punished for it .

Which is essentially what he did during his prime
