Round 1

Cuello is mauling Soto, hammering him with hard left hands on the way in and then roughly jerking him around and flinging him down. Soto is down several times without it being ruled a KD but punches are landing as he goes down and ultimately the referee applies a count. Another left hand puts Soto down again as he tries to run and cover with Cuello hot on his heels.

Round 2

Cuello comes running straight at Soto, hitting the brakes as a few hooks fly out toward his face. Cuello then throws a hard southpaw 1-2 and puts Soto down again. Soto is up but taking powerful clubbing lefts across the back as he turns and flees. Soto is hammered down another time and it's waved off.

Michael Farenas vs. Fernando Beltran Jr. - 10 rounds @ super featherweight.

Farenas is another southpaw from the Philippines.

 

Round 1

Farenas is moving in wide circles to his right on the outside, staying low as the taller Mexican tries to line up right jabs. Farenas is bobbing inside and landing right hooks and quick flurries to the body. Big lunging left hand connects for Farenas as he springs up into Beltran's face. Beltran is reaching across, overextending with right jabs and hooks to the body. Hook-2 combos by Beltran now, flung several feet at the mobile Farenas. A 1-2 by Farenas before falling in to clinch. More movement on the outside by Farenas. Head clash. Nasty cut on Farenas. The doctor has a look. It's fine to go on. Deep, though. Just not affecting his vision. Beltran tries a 1-2 to the body and gets jabbed in the face as they get back into circling rhythm. Nice right uppercut by Farenas.

10-9 Farenas

 

Round 2

Farenas pumps his right jab as Beltran tries to move his head with his feet planted. Farenas keeps circling and lands a solid straight left. Beltran's head movement isn't enough to deter the fierce consistency of Farenas. Beltran lands a good 1-2 of his own but is mostly getting turned and countered. They parry jabs, and Farenas climbs his way up Beltran with right hooks to the body and then head. Big lead left and then a right upper-hook by Farenas, just slamming through Beltran's guard.
