if you actually read my posts instead of making assumptions you would realise thats bollox. my posting style doesn't change if someone post on here i just say what i think. a comment about tony bellew will seem worse than one about lee purdy cos tony posts on here and people kiss is ass.
There is a lot that post on this forum. I can't believe some of them have the cheek to try and tell a pro boxer how to fight, who to train with or what to eat. They are all just keyboard warriors who would cower in the corner at the thought of getting in a professional ring.
I can't judge Farnell as a trainer but I do worry about the sparring Gavin is getting. Macklin I'm sure benefitted hugely from the sparring at the Wild Card.
There's a difference between kissing arse and respect, I for one am thankfull of guys like Tony, Frankie and Arnie for coming on here, and some of the abuse they get, if I were them I wouldn't bother
Agreed bigtime. deal Having a go at someone on how they fight or who they train with is bordering on disrespectful when you've never been in a professional ring!!
It cleary is personal with you you've said in the past you don't like Arnie, Arnie is a good strict trainer all you've got to do is ask fighters like Steven bell who trained under Billy Graham and Matty hall who trained under brian Hughes and both say Arnie is the best trainer they've had! After a bad night your saying Frankie should leave then what about John murry he's just had 2 bad performances should he leave Joe? Or Kevin mitchel after kats fight? Arnie had 3 fighters on last night Frankie, Ron Heffron and Paul butler, Paul and Ron boxed brilliantly, both showed massive improvements! Don't judge a trainer on 1 fight!
Some of the comments here are a joke. Farnell was a cracking fighter who gave his all everytime he was in the ring. Totally disrespectful to him and his opposition to say otherwise. Hes done a fair job this far- it think farnell gets a lot of stick because of his connection with FW if he was making his own route no one would bother. He looks a cracking pad man for a start. He knows the sport having boxed himself and learned from the likes of Brain hughes and billy graham. If anything been scared to bite the hands that feed him is causing him problems- so he's in a tough situation. If I was him i'd be very tempted to **** people out of the corner and let me be completely in control. I might be wrong but it seems sometimes that he is subodinating to FW when in fact having being a fighter and now a good trainer, he should be allowed to control his fighters himself, and his fighters- not him should be answerable to the promoter. The FACT is that despite Gavin not performing, Ronnie Heffron did, and he looked superb. So why is he not suffering the same poor form as Gavin. Its hardly level of opposition either because talent wise is there really a great deal between woodhouse and Jones. Farnell is in a tough business situation. I think he's a good thoughtful coach- plus all his fighters swear by him. Give the guy a break.
Don't keep blaming the trainer. Frankie Gavin is not as good as people seem to think. ****** doesn't think so either because he's not giving Gavin much of a push is he. He will lose soon bank it. Something's not there with him.
People say Jimmy Tibbs is a great trainer. Is he? Course he is. Now what happened with Mitchell supposedly prior to the Katsidis fight?. All sorts out of the gym and ring! could Jimmy control that no all he can do is try get his man in best possible shape with the time he's got with him. Same with Farnell and Gavin IMO. Farnell was a warrior type fighter and i cannot see him allowing Frankie to slack in the gym. It has to be outside the gym that's all i can think of. By way everyone's talking it sounds like he hasn't got a S&C coach. That's first step to getting back on the road. I'm neither on the Gavin bandwagon nor off it but no doubts he has some talent but something's not right. I feel for Curtis because his performance was also very good which helped make Frankie look worse. In saying that you expect a lot lot more from a former world am champion. I get impression maybe Frankie felt talent and skill is all he needs to succeed. Maybe last night was the wake up call he needed. Hope so for his sake....
