Sorry, but how many rounds? It does change the odds, those three rounds.

Basically though I would pick Rocky. He showed me he can't be outboxed under 200 during his career.

The ref would count to ten over Spinks.

If Spinks was Marciano's next opponent after Moore (in the wonderful, hypothetical world of the Classic forum), Rocky would be 50-0.

Marciano just hits too hard..though he might suffer an early "flash" knockdown.

Spinks was far better than Matthews. Funny, I saw recently where Moore refered to Matthews as a total hype job and just not that good. Results generally seem to bear that out...

Spinks was too tall, too hard punching and too accurate for the slow, ponderous, easily cut Marciano. Spinks stops him within 5 rounds.

I think the ref would reach 100 before he regained conciousness.

The default answer for most would be Rocky but I'm not sure about how he would deal with Spinks' range, skill set and power considering how much trouble Marciano had with a 100yr old Joe Louis in the early rounds.

Look at what Tyson did to Spinks in the span of 90 seconds back in 88. Spinks legs were twitching after that second knockdown and he couldn't beat the ref's count if he'd had gone to 30.

As for Rocky's fight with Louis, he worshiped the man and it didn't set well with him to KO him like that, so maybe he wasn't pressing like he normally would have. No real proof of that, just a hunch.

Marciano in 5 or less. People who hate Marciano love matching him up with lightheavys or in this case a guy who moved up from there. Charles, Walcott, Moore.....Spinks!!

Exactly. Marciano struggled with light-punching, not particularly fast or accurate, stumpy little Charles and Walcott. Think how he'd be JINX'D! :deal

...But, seriously, I wouldn't completely rule out Spinx, but consider Rocky to be the strong favorite here. The awkwardness between them would produce an oddball classic for however long it may last. One round, five round, ten, twelve, fifteen. :conf
