re. the 8k-10k when you add in paying for the sanctioning fee, their judges, observers, refs, hotels, flights, meals allowance and whatever other crap they demand then i wouldnt be shocked.
I take it the first bit is about Coyle but who is the second bit for the promoters or the suckers that go along expecting to see a world title fight.:huh
exactly :good Dont mind the lads getting decent fights but dont come out talking about world title fights and with the money being spent the promoters could (a) get stronger opponents in to beef up the undercards or (b)Put another 2 on so more lads can get run outs.Either way it would strenghten the promotion.
Woodhouse looks to be a better prospect than Gavin July 18th, 2011 By Scott Gilfoid: For a fighter that has only been boxing for five years, Curtis Woodhouse (15-3, 10 KOs) has a heck of a lot of talent. I was really impressed with his performance against Frankie Gavin last Saturday night. I had Woodhouse winning that fight by a couple of rounds, but Gavin nicked it by a 12 round split decision by the scores of 117-112, 116-113 and 114-115. Woodhouse showed good power and excellent combinations. I frankly see him as a much better prospect than than Gavin. I think Gavins promoter needs to cut his losses and dump him. I just dont see much more than a domestic level fighter in Gavin. Hes lacking in so many areas its not even funny. Woodhouse, though, I think he can be a good fighter if he can get an American trainer like Freddie Roach or Emanuel Steward to take him under his wing. If this guy had the right trainer, I think he could be a world class fighter. Sadly, I dont see much of a future for Gavin. Maybe he can scrape his way to a the level of a bottom feeder at the world level but that would be really stretching it because I see him as second tier all the way. Hes too flawed, too hittable and too slow. If I was his promoter, Id dump him so fast that his head would be spinning. Woodhouse is the better physical prospect. Hes just raw and needs training but I can see him beating a lot of guys if someone can mold. But I think hes wasting away in the UK. He needs to come to America so he can be taught how to fight properly. :think
What a load of shite , Gavin is no domestic level fighter . He has had a few bad performances thats all .Its clear he has talent to burn but lacks dedication , he needs to cop on to himself if he wants to win a world title .
AAaaaggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!! Why are people still posting and/or discussing stories from boxingnews24.com Its the biggest pile of durge on the planet. Fake names for authors and trolling articles to generate hits. I can honestly say I never visit that **** tip
some of it is fine, the article on Fitz a few weeks ago was revealing. :yep But going by his latest performances Gavins is struggling atm, thats plain to see.:deal
We all know the score with the WBF title... There's no point arguing it over and over again. Regarding Irish title fights - fair point but in fairness to Pajo he offered to defend his WBF title against Casey, I wouldn't blame Casey for not taking the fight but you can't accuse Pajo of 'ducking' anyone. He challenged the European champion - it didn't happen, he then looked to take advantage of his eligibility for the British title and it didn't happen so it seems quite logical that they decided to put on a decent card against a decent opponent with the allure of a 'world' title to attract the casual fan and try and build a base that way. Bernard Dunne did it back in 2005, what's the big deal...?
all seems to be gone quiet unfortunately. Feel especially sorry for Collado/Acosta, hes the only one that seems dedicated but hes wasting away now as well. They already absconded from Cuba, they need to abscond from Ireland now to save their careers
