Wanted to hear peoples thoughts on this fight since I know little about either fighter. I heard it was a great fight but I've never even watched it before either. so no spoilers please

I just hate it when people post spoilers on fights that occured several decades ago.

I saw it live in '82 and I watched the tape early this morning slightly tanked.... Sanchez was a mere age 23, yet well seasoned... Nelson was close in age too, but green with 15 pro fights... Sanchez had just a little more savvy and seasoning in 1982 for the rugged man from Ghana who would later prove to be the best 126 pound champion since the late Sanchez....

Sanchez connected well in round 7 with a wicked hook that wobbled Nelson and then followed up with a combo that put Nelson on his azz... A big round for Sanchez...

Nelson was game overall, but all done by round 15.... Sanchez dropped him and stopped him with seconds only left in the fight...

Sal Sanchez was killed 3 weeks later on Aug. 12, 1982 in Mex... The fool was driving his Porshe at high speed and hit a truck on a highway....

Well since the fights been "spoiled" already.

Beautiful fight. Sanchez showed great resiliency in staying calm and eventually figuring out the late-replacement Azumah Nelson. Azumah showed great heart and skills in nearly going the distance with one of the GOAT in his 16th pro fight. He never wanted to stop fighting

Honestly, try actually watching the fight itself before creating a "discussion" thread about it.That way you won't have to ask others not to spoilt the result for you (If you think we're stupid enough to believe that you didn't know the result beforehand, that is.)

It was a great display by both men.........Nelson was a little banty rooster in there, so desperate to mix it up. This fight also showed that Sanchez wasn't exactly shy about mixing it up, too.

Quite an amazing feat that someone posting for years in a classic boxing forum doesn't know what happened in Sanchez vs Nelson.
