yea thats a gd reason to relinquish your belts just because noone wanted to see them fights...im pretty sure people wanted to see lewis ruiz..and i know for certain anyone would have loved to see lewis vs byrd..
I think it's only natural for Lewis to praise his former opponent, especially if he did well in the fight against himself. If it were Wlad fighting Lewis on that night instead of Vitali and if the fight were competitive, Lewis would now be saying that Wlad is better than Vitali.
Same old same old.............its all conjecture. If if if!!!...............if I had wheels I would be a wagon. Lewis was better. He won. Retired at the top on his terms. The crying afterwards just proves his value really.
Thanks for making me laugh. Back in 2000 nobody know who Ruiz was before he fought Holyfield in the first fight. Grant made a name for himself in a great underrated fight vs Golata and Grant was undefeated and was i believe 2 or 3 inch taller then Lewis. Ruiz and Bryd style are freaking boring to watch in which is why Lewis wasn't interested in facing them. If Johnson didn't have a habit of low blows he would easily beat Ruiz in which he was doing great until the low blow occur.
:smoke he made the fight with GRANT shortly after ANDREW exposed him for the limited guy he was . ( Of cource ANDREW found a way to allow GRANT to with par usual ):deal
The figures for tyson v lewis were huge. That was clearly the biggest fight at the time. No question about that.
no one ignores that Golota was beating the crap out of Grant round after round before Golota was knocked down and had one of his mental breakdowns and quit, hence the TKO loss. we all know where Grant went from there and after there. to pretend otherwise is denial
someones already explained to you about grant..and he didnt go near byrd because he was dangerous for him..if you think lewis didnt fight byrd because he was boring then your a fool...ino why he didnt fight byrd..and it had more to do with him not only being gd dfensivly and fast it was alot to do with him being a south paw..and ruiz was always going to be a tuff fight because of his style.again nothing to do with him supposedly being unkown at the ****ing time....geezus
Fighting Bryd would have been Lewis first time facing a southpaw but i think Lewis would still have easily beat Bryd but it would be a boring fight cause Bryd will run like he's in a track meat and it won't do great deal for Lewis cause it would make Lewis look like he's a boring fighter in which is bad business sense. And besides nobody wanted to see Lewis vs Bryd. Everybody wanted to see Lewis vs Tyson. Lewis fighting Tyson was Lewis biggest payday in his career while if he would have fought Bryd, Lewis would have a way less payday and i bet it wouldn't be on hbo ppv. It's mostly about business sense. You say Golata exposed Grant? Will would u say Golata also exposed both Bryd and Ruiz as well since imo he beat both of them?
