As much praise as Mayweather gets, sometimes I think he is underestimated by his detractors, a bit. Since he comes across as a total ignorant jerk at times. He has everyone fooled, the dude is extremely intelligent and focus. Every move, inside and outside of the ring, is fully calculated. With that being said, not easy for may, but a clear victory is what I expect.
Ortiz is a good fighter. While I predict a Mayweather win, Ortiz is a big strong, hard hitting southpaw.
Exactly. Say what you want to about Mayweather (and I've said plenty), the guy always shows up in tip top shape. Ortiz will have to beat a better version of Mayweather than Douglas beat of Tyson.
4th rd. Money's skills rely STRICTLY on speed and reflexes. He is more cautious of shots to the body as for him stamina is the most important thing. Mosley was able to put him in trouble by throwing a jab to the body and Floyd committed to it and left himself wide open to the head. Ortiz can do it if he stalks Floyd early and hits em to the body with commitment. Only thing that will make it a lopsided affair is if Ortiz squares up which he does often, then Floyd will **** him.
Douglas was the challenger and Tyson was the champ. Here, it's the opposite. Ortiz has the title. And they're giving him a chance. It's 8-1 last time I checked. The Tyson-Douglas fight had no betting odds because it was considered a no-brainer.
Ortiz just needs to be aggressive like he was with berto. His southpaw style will throw mayweather off for a little while, and his best chance is early when Floyd is shaking off the ring rust. Plus he's a slow starter. If Ortiz tries to box he's just gonna get outclassed. Needs to be aggressive and stay commited, and have the stamina to a hard 12 rounds.
Yes. Floyd gonna be rusty, slower and Ortiz will be the best conditioned fighter Floyd has faced in over 5 or 6 years.
I don't see how Ortiz is going to go through with this. He even had troubles with Berto, so what makes him think hes going to win against Mayweather, Jr. Only way to beat Floyd would be in-game smarts, I think Ortiz is going to try brawl with Mayweather.
