Mayweather CLEARLY won the first five rounds, so I find it funny that JLC somehow managed to lose by robbery, despite losing the first five rounds. So Castillo swept Mayweather from then on? I think not.

De La Hoya may not been at his best when he and Mayweather fought but he was not Shot.

 

Castillo won Round 5. Massive clean body shots with 1:04 and :40 secs to go which is why Floyd slowed and had his worst rd of the fight in the 6th trying to rest and recover from the bodywork. it was all over from there he lost no less than 7 of the last 8. The 6 th round put the nail in the coffin

Truth: Oscar threw more jabs in the 2nd half of the fight than he did in the first half of the fight. Punch stats are there to prove it, go look it up yourself if you want.

Truth: Oscar stopped LANDING the jab, he did not stop throwing it. Mayweather adjusted.

Myth: Oscar had a "close" fight with Mayweather.

Truth: Oscar won 4 rounds at best. 8 rounds to 4 is not a "close fight."

Myth: Floyd was ducking Oscar and Shane for years and waited for them to age.

Truth: Floyd had been calling out Oscar and Shane since he was a lightweight. They were the big names, and THEY were the ones ducking Floyd, not the other way around. Only person you should be complaining to about Oscar not being "prime" is Oscar himself. Same for Shane.

 

Castillo edged the first fight. Mayweather won the second fight clearly.

Floyd was brawling in the first fight and I would say his injuries were legit.

 

So many people fail to be rational when it comes to Floyd (and Pac) but I think the majority of impartial boxing fans will agree Mayweather lost the fight. Not by a lot, but he clearly lost.

I don't think it was so much like Williams vs Lara as some have said, more like Sturm vs Macklin in recent times.
