How do you think he gets on in a rematch with Katsidis? I think he takes it if he comes in well prepared this time.

Some of the rankings are a bit odd, but I'd defiantly take box recs rankings over most of the rankings put forward in here, Mitchell is definitely top 10 too!

Ring now has Mitchell at #5 and Murray at #10

“The reason that Kevin Mitchell did not take over the No. 4 ranking that John Murray held prior to their match is because Mitchell had been stopped by Michael Katsidis is his previous fight,” said Collins. “THE RING and the majority of Ratings Advisory Panel members responding this week felt it was only fair that Katsidis remain above Mitchell.”

Not sure, I think Mitchell could nick the fight. It'd be a war for sure.

by plenty I presume you mean 3 or 4 world class fighter in that division...if you're not calling Katsidis world class, then nor can you call Antillion, Vazquez, or Acosta world class.

    What?

You can't call Acosta world class because Katsidis isn't? Ludicrous, Acosta is far better than Katsidis now, and in their respective primes.

Agreed. Acosta has far more to his game.

complete nonsense...hes been fighting complete bums his whole career. Acostas prime is basicaly his last 4 fights, because he did virtually nothing before.

It would be a 50/50 fight, maybe edging in Acostas favour, but to say hes FAR better is rubbish. You cant call one world class without the other, its too fine a line.

    Pathetic.

Last four fights? You do realise that in 2007 he travelled to America to fight the highly touted, and unbeaten, Anges Adjaho and handled him with ease? Sure, it was officially a split decision, which was crazy, but anyone who actually watched it knows the score. That was a title eliminator, but Acosta was continually dodged at both super-feather and lightweight by every WBA champion until they made Moses take the fight, but I'll give you a pass, because just looking at him on BoxRec obviously doesn't tell you that.

Acosta has so much more to his game than Katsidis, it's not 'rubbish', it's fact. What has Katsidis got that's of the highest level exactly? He's pretty good at pressuring and has a big left hook, he has virtually no strings to his bow, no defence, no right hand, no jab. Acosta's probably the most versatile fighter at the weight, watch him against Antillon and then watch him against Moses to see that, anyone will be able to pick up on it. He countered Urbano silly, evading his wild assaults and them making him pay for it with an array of blows, left hooks, right uppercuts, right hooks, all the while slowing him down with his jab, culminating in him sparking him in 9. Then watch the Moses fight, in Namibia against possibly the fastest fighters in the division with a very, very good jab and outside game, Acosta pressured to perfection, crouching down, his head movement enabling him to slip Moses' shots and then laying it on him with perfectly timed, perfectly strung together combinations, up and down. He did it consistently for six rounds and broke Paulus' heart, an excellent performance. Kats would be out-timed by Aguacerito, his non-existent defence would have been exploited to the full, and he would've constantly been caught with flush, accurate, well-placed counters. Katsidis hasn't got the physicality to make Acosta circle as wide as he did against Rios(the primary reason he lost), and I don't think you can argue that he would.

So, I think from actually watching them you can distinguish who's world class and who isn't. Katsidis perennially comes up short against the best, and has tough fights with fringe contenders, Acosta beats them with relative ease.
